Searching for sarcasm...

But, honestly, I think these are two dudes the Hawks should resign for a reasonable contract (no Bowman silliness) and keep them as your work boots and lunch pale guys.

- Hank3Henshaw

Sure but why not trade them for some picks, then resign them if you want in the summer.

No sarcasm.

I don't doubt that Wingels and Bouma are the hardest working guys on the team, but they're not going to help the Hawks at this point. Reward them with a trade to a contender and let them have a shot at a championship. They can always be re-signed in the off season. I could see one of them coming back, likely Wingels as he's the more versatile of the two.

These is great news. Hopefully the other teams' scouts in attendance also see what you're seeing and this increases their trade value. I'd like to see them both dealt, but it would be nice to see Wingels return in the off season.

There were 14 scouts there last night.

Even if Stan just gets a 4th or 5th round pick it's worth it. Extra draft selections are always good, or they can even be used to trade up in the draft.

I don't think he'll go, but I would trade Sharp too as he could bring back a higher return. I would like to see Sharp return as well, but in a front-office role.

According to TSN insider trading the Arizona Coyotes have offered D Oliver Ekman-Larsson to the New York Islanders for F Josh Ho Sang and a 1st round pick.

However Isles GM Garth Snow turned the offer down.

da faqk?? Ho Sang isn't doesn't look to me like he's gonna be more than a 2nd/3rd line streaky scorer and who knows what your draft pick can yield. OEL would be a HELL of an addition to any team especially one trying to convince it's best player NOT to leave in FA at the end of the year.

Which is more important to an organization, shaving time off a rebuild or maintaining a good reputation with current and former players?

Part of me wishes the Hawks would adopt a Cardinals-style of personnel management where they trade players who are older and starting to decline. Specifically, I want them to trade Keith. He is my favorite player, but the current Blackhawks roster has more holes than one player can compensate for. A Keith trade could shave time off the Hawks' rebuild.

However, I am torn. It seems that the Hawks organization is well-respected by its current and former players. There is value there, and I believe it helps the team sign talent. Specifically, I think it helps us sign Euros and College UFAs.

I'm curious to see what the board thinks. (Given that these are both long-term strategies)

Another player with a NMC. I don't disagree with your thinking and it does make sense however, it's going to be tough moving any of the older guys unless they're willing to waive.

Stan should counter with Bouma and a 5th for OEL....I think Arizona would go for it.

Josh Ho Sang has been a bust to date so I'm not sure why Garth would turn that down.

I would think there had to be other pieces though as I don't even know if OEL can fit under the NYI cap.

If we've moved into the "career ending" discussion I would have to think his season is over.

AKA he's not gonna play this year which is the best thing for this team going forward

EDIT: Still think (or hope) that he's actually okay and they just don't see the point in rushing him back THIS season and he'll be good to go next season

OEL with 1 year left before UFA and it looks like the Isles have 2 1st round picks this year. There own and Calgary's (currently 19th).

Heck, if the Yotes would take #19 then I'd go for it. Little else Snow has done has worked.

And besides, Ek never made mention of this at all. I'm calling fake news.

Next person to support trading Keith can take the Alexander Steen dong out of their mouth. Unbelievable fair weather fans in here sometimes. The guy is our greatest defenseman of all-time, on the league's best deal (Tavares ends this year).

One more person says they support trading him I will find you and knock you out and tattoo BARRET JACKMAN on your forehead.

Nice to see Anton Forsberg start again tomorrow.

I know he hasn't been "amazing" but just let the kid play to see what you truly have in him.

I remember a former 6'6 goaltender who had to find his way early on as an NHL goalie with the Blackhawks. He let in some real bad goals during this time as well. However, in time (and with patience from the coaching staff), he became one of the best backups in the league.

Also, not that it matters, but you guys noticed Brent Seabrook had 10 SOGs last night right?

Anyone know / care to do some digging to see who the last dman was to get that many in 1 game?

I'm thinking Byfuglien around 2007-09... just a guess though.

Yeah. We can hang on to him until he is a shell of his former self like the Flyers did with Kimmo Timonen then trade him to a Cup contender for a 2nd and a conditional 2nd.

I'm as serious as Teuvo Terravainen's offseason weightlifting routine. You just went one spot up on the list, now you're getting an Antoinne Rousell tattoo

Slight clarification: he was asked whether there was any concern it could become career-threatening.
