I am amazed baptiste in in the presser for us instead of helping their goal scoring issues in rochester - homiedclown
100% agree. What good is Baptiste sitting in the presser? Send both Baptiste and Nelson back down to Rochester. They need more help than the Sabres do at this point in time. We might even want to send EROD down as well. Rochester's season is more important than the Sabres at this point in time.

OR you know actually play Baptiste in the top 6 on teh big club.
Apparently Housely rewards him by benching his ass.
I am starting to believe that Housley is super old school and has the earn it mentality, AKA will play poopty vets over promising rookies because they have been through the ringer of the NHL. |

Old school mentality for sure.
Also helps drop to the bottom of the standings

It takes 2 gms to make a trade.
These guys really suck. This is a tank year. Not sure how anyone couldn't at least consider that?
We have a proven record of tanking and owners who agree with tanking.
A new gm who came from A very successful franchise with 2 top centers, and 5 early picks in a row.
You can't tank forever but, do you really want to be in 22nd place?
Our team is a bunch of guys who have no value. Purposely gathered to finish at the bottom.
In my opinion - Boss34
This group was not initially gathered to finish in the bottom by GMTM. The core was supposed to be at least competitive but GMJB saw it as crap and kept it as crap to stealth tank this year to get another high pick. That is my opinion and how I see it.

I couldn't agree with you more.
Who wouldn't want another top pick of you are gm?
The formula hasn't changed:
High end talent wins in the nhl.
High end talent is easier to find early in the draft.
Losing insures drafting early |

What does that have to do with Gionta's opinion on the quality of captain O'Reilly would be? - kingcong39
Archer made a reference to the fact that O'Reilly seems to think he should be the captain of this team based on what ends up amounting to nothing.
The Kraut linked an article where Brian Gionta stated that he thought he had the makings of a good captain, and then went on to use his resume as qualification.
My point was to say that Gionta's resume as a player was irrelevant in the discussion, just as Wayne Gretzky's resume as a player did him zero good when it came to his ability to evaluate players. |
