It's looking like we might have finally pulled a winner out of the system, if he walks from us it's going to be a big blow to this defense which blows already. Him a Guhle would be good help next season, hope GMJB gets Nelson signed soon. - sskkoo1
I remember when people hated him because he wasn't awesome after 10 games of pro experience.

Okay guy, blame it on Scandella.
And yeah, I've seen the play a hundred times, and it's been infuriating a hundred times because the first thing you learn in pee-wee IS TO NEVER ATTEMPT A DROP-PASS, let alone in your own zone. - BeadyEyedDouche
I mean, Scandella was wide open 15 feet away from the play. RISTOLAINEN MADE THE WRONG DECISION, and it's something even junior players don't do.
It is 100% on Ristolainen, what don't you understand.
But yeah he was tired or something and hitting Ovechkin all day. |

DET guaranteed no less than a 4th round for Mrazek. If PHI makes playoffs and Mrazek wins 5 games for PHI in reg season, 4th becomes a 3rd. If PHI advances to CF, and Mrazek wins six playoff games, the 3rd becomes a 2nd. If PHI re-signs him next season, DET gets PHI 3rd in 19.
Bob McKenzie
@TSNBobMcKenzie
So the minimum DET gets for Mrazek is a fourth-round pick, that could become a third- or a second-round pick, dependent on how Mrazek/Flyers perform. The additional pick, a third-rounder, is conditional only on Mrazek re-signing in PHI.

Holy poop dude, this was my first comment to Lulags saying Risto was the last man back, when he demonstrably wasn't: Behind the back pass when your the last man back with an empty net too boot. Hockey 101 when your 10 years old.
I’ll be the first hater. Too much of this stupid sh&t from him - lulags
You need to get your eyes checked, there was not one, but two Sabres behind Risto on that play.
Ovechkin's stat line: a Doug Gilmore special(Deflection. That if Reinhart scored it people would be poopting all over it saying how he's never beat a goalie with his shot, which is absurd) and 3 shots. Risto did a fantastic job on one of the best players in the league today. He got a little cute late, but he had help behind him, I don't know WTF Scandella was doing at the dot on the other side of the ice though. He should've been up to provide support, what's the point in pulling the goalie if an extra skater is going to be that far behind the play?
And I remember getting drilled to not pass directly across your own net, yet it happens all the (frank)ing time. |

Your problem, and well everyone's problem, is they read what they want to read and either wholly misrepresent or over exaggerate what said person was saying. |

Furthermore, it's the NHL, not midget hockey. I'm pretty sure, most of the time, they can handle advanced techniques. |

He's a nice surprise, something that this team can really use right now. After Butcher, Vesey, Petersen, and now talk of Borgen not wanting to play here, we sure don't need Nelson becoming a solid bottom 4 defenseman for someone else. |

If your focus was on Risto not being the last man back, you already focused on the wrong aspect of the situation.
It was a terrible play by a guy who's clearly reached his ceiling. I have not seen any progression from him since his 2nd season.
The excuses need to stop. We don't have any smart hockey players on this team, and the one guy with "high hockey I.Q." is a pot-head who skates slower than an 80-year old man sh!ts and constantly gets tossed around like Buffalo Hard Hat's salad by the other team's players, even ones half his size.
Kane didn't look good today, he played loud, yeah he had 9 shots and 4 hits but that doesn't equal good, that equals a dude flying all over the ice doing whatever he feels like doing because he knows he's not gonna be here for much longer.
No one on this team can pass, no one can win a battle along the boards, no one has any situational awareness, no one has any kind of finish and there's still guys on here who have the audacity to say this is a stealth tank and that this was all planned?
The entire roster sucks except Scott Wilson, who's for some otherworldly reason, the only competent looking player on the team, other than the 2 or 3 guys who constantly get benched for defensive studs like Josh (frank)ing Gorges. |

I think if he didn't have that stupid bag it wouldn't have been a big deal.
And with Borgen we have one guy saying he made a face and dismissed a question about Buffalo, and another saying it was taken out of context and that he like Buffalo, so until there's movement one way or the other I'll reserve judgement. |

Why the outrage? The Sabres use the drop pass regularly with the man advantage and it's easy to see why Risto expected it here.

He (frank)ed up, the puck hit a rut/a wet spot/mishandled it, in any event the puck stopped moving and that's all it took.
Rodrigues wouldn't skate that close to Risto without expecting Risto to pass/leave it for him. |

I'd honestly do a Risto and ROR for Kane, Keith and a 2nd trade and never look back. and I at least think Chicago nibbles, if not fully bites that.
