I don't think if Karlsson came here he would be a rental. The Jets have done an excellent job of signing their UFA's a season prior to them being unrestricted. In my humble opinion, Karlsson is the best player in the NHL and opportunities to land a player of his stature do not come around often.

Signing him would be the only way it could happen. But, he will want big bucks, bigger that Buf's 7.5, and you get Ryan as well. So, I guess we will have to wait and see if you get to wear your pre ordered jersey!

That would be a lot of money tied up with 3 players (Karlsson, Ryan and Buff) and only Karlsson would be worth the money.

I was responding before on Ultimate's trade scenario's assuming Karlsson would be a UFA at the end of the season, but he is signed for next season as well. I don't know why I was thinking that, but I was wrong obviously.

So my previous responses were based on that assumption. Sorry Ultimate!
