Kane to Pit would need a highly regarded prospect.
Dregs said this morning there's a few serious teams with a prospect or two coming back. |

Ullmark and a backup.
How are those numbers low? Reinhart on a 2 year bridge? JVR approaching 30 as a top 6 winger? Carlson maybe gets more, but definitely not much.
And if you're referring to the AHL callups.......
Those numbers are definitely not "low". - TheSabresTaco
The big one's are low.
3.5 is on the low end for Sam
7 won't get Carlson here
5 isn't close on JVR
.8 doesn't keep Nelson
Walking away from Lehner is a big savings. Hope they do.

Cole - TheSabresTaco
That's a good hockey trade.
But Ottawa won't be reaping those rewards for another 5 years, both with the pick and with the goalie (who's only 19). |

Let's circle back to this in July. Not saying you're wrong, but I have a feeling you are. Chances are Carlson isn't here, but to say he wouldn't sign for 7M if he doesn't sign here is just a matter of opinion. I'm betting on those open market prices though. Reinhart, maaaaaybe 4. |

Wonder if this will trigger Tampa to get Karlsson?
Pitt is deep down the middle
3 scoring lines... again
That’s the model IMO
Play Jack, O’Reilly & Mittelstadt down the middle
Let them make their wingers better
(to varying degrees) |

Once Kane is gone, no one is making that left side better. Yikes. |

I think Sam gets 3.5 x 2yrs
JvR will cost at least 6
Carlson at least 6.5
But to get them HERE...
might have to add another mil to each
IF they’d even consider coming |

Crosby & Malkin have a way of doing that
Can’t have 9 all stars in the top9
They just need guys who can skate & play a role
I think they’ll be just fine
Actually,
I think their forward lines will be great
(Assuming Brassard & Kessel gel ok) |

Sure, it'll be clear as mud though! Carslon will probably resign, JVR will sign with a contender. Anything under 4m for Sam is great work by JB, and I hope he gets that done.
We'll probably buyout Moulson, but not Bogo.
Nelson is a wildcard. Signing him under 1.6m would be awesome.
Walking away from Lehner will take serious guts, and I hope he has them!

Other way around, man. Bogo gets us 4M in cap space, Moulson gets us 1.5.
Nelson is proving to be a really solid player. But it took McCabe an entire year of playing in Buffalo to get his 1.6. I'm not sure Nelson has the time yet to get there. But maybe something between 800 and 1.6 makes sense. Then again, he's a UFA, so you may be right on him.
Trading Lehner would definitely be great. Walking away from him without compensation would really suck, considering he was worth Colin White. |

Watch them flip Cole for a 3rd or something
A 1st a 3rd and the goalie for Brassard
That's a solid haul actually |

I don't think of the buyouts as cap savings, based on where I see the team next year. I don't think they want to bury Moulson again. As interesting as a Bogo buyout this year is, his injury doesn't allow it.
Nelson is so hard to predict. Maybe he feels some loyalty, but he really shouldn't. If I'm his agent, I'm asking for Beaulieu's 2.4m or hitting free agency.
The Lehner situation is bad all around. I'm trying not to read too much into not trading him to Philly, but it's hard. I fear arbitration there.
