except the driving factor behind his value has been this prolonged slump. Even if those teams didnt sell, Kane has basically been useless since mid december, thats going to hurt value.

teams may "know who kane is" but this is a short term buy so thats all buyers are interested.

Then it was UP then, when Botts had just raised the price

Even if his play has finally been the deciding factor (i still think more sellers is a bigger factor, but whatever)...

All we've heard is the potential pittsburgh trade for future firsts and that insiders were saying teams werent willing to give up a first.

We should trade Kane to NJ for Jesper Boqvist. Then we can draft his brother with the 4th overall pick

I said I’d be happy with an “A” prospect & a 2nd that becomes a 1st if the team re-signs Kane
That was my hope instead of a 1st & a “B” prospect

We will see what happens

Anyone saying a top 5 pick is 4-5 years away from contributing is just making up numbers.

I think value has been down the whole time, I think the price dropping is botts giving in a bit with deadline approaching to ensure he gets something of value.

Im hopeful he gets decent value, im not all that optimistic. not because of Botts, although I would have sold much earlier, but because I dont believe Kane is all that great in the first place so you need to bet on someones stupidity. Unfortunately, Chiarelli is a seller.
