Isnt that a roundabout way of accomplishing the same thing?
If our gm can fill a roster and only pay them 1/4 of their salary that wouldnt make you happy? I call it genius, you call it circumvention... - TheHank
I does sound like circumvention
Idk if the league will allow it |

he could also get punched in the face well.. - hehateme
Kane fought 3 times in 1 game vs. The Panthers.
It was a fun game to be at.
How many other fights has he won since being a sabre? |

Hockeybuzz is digital grab-ass. I do find it genuinely hilarious that politics, religion, gun control and bullying are less vitriolic topics than debates about ROR - jcragcrumple
Thats because most here choose to not get involved with the bullpoop. if its about hockey, lots more folks jump into the pile. |

The league rejected the brassard trade
Hearing @NHL has rejected the Brassard trade unless @penguins @Senators @GoldenKnights can restructure the trade to leagues satisfaction. |

Whether or not they will allow it is a different topic. If they do allow it and it comes to fruition like i stated then its not circumvention and i would call it genius. |

I appreciate his physical presence more than his actual fighting
Grabner got what many felt Kane would get
He should get more
Hopefully a couple teams are bidding against each other |

Ok, sounds like circumvention. I wonder what the proposal was. |

Shadman ^^ just said they won’t allow it
Not sure where he got that from though
If it’s true, I’m not surprised
Pretty clearly an attempt to circumvent imo
Pitt is gonna have to find a way to dump more salary
I’m sure they’ll figure it out somehow |

A first seems unlikely now.
I would have it at a really good prospect a top 9 and a second |

not really, how's getting good value for the players you sign circumvention? |

Dreger and Friedman.
The teams are trying to rework it but the league rejected it as it was before |

It was probably them trying to acquire the player at 1/4 the price by having him go through Vegas first
I think the league is doing the right thing here

Ottawa, Pittsburgh and VGK are still ironing out wrinkles in the Brassard trade to Pens. It's being reworked according to sources.

In order for @GoldenKnights or any other team to retain salary they must FIRST have the player on their reserve list. You can not do a 3 way trade & assert that one club pays part of the salary for another player that is not on reserve list. Just a guess as to the wrinkle.

Maybe the league is trying to save Melnyk from himself |

Kane with out question has that --- don't mess with me or anyone on my team persona---
I would rather a playmaker, have team continuity and win though |

Pitt will just have to add another roster player to the deal to get room
Or send a roster player to someone else for a pick or prospect

So Melnyk basically tried to launder salary through an intermediary (Vegas). He is hilarious |

I think it’ll depend on what Nash gets
And how many teams are bidding on Kane
If guys like Hoffman & Patch don’t move,
that’s obviously good for us |

Sounds more like semantics my guess is it’s a three way trade that’s just two other trades.
Probably lopsided trade from Ottawa to Vegas and then lopsided the other way from Vegas to pitt |

Sounds like it, I wouldn't say hilarious I would say trying his best to tip toe the line with conforming to the CBA and still making out well.
It's actually pretty intelligent if he could have pulled it off |
