Lehner staying would be helpful.
Top 5 pick - helpful - Boss34
Then what to do with him after this year? I guess its moot anyways as probably nobody wants him. Just saw a list of the top 25 goalies in the league the other day, guess who wasnt on it? I have been told that he is average and not terrible though. |

The 4th period has Kane as their 4th best player available at the deadline.
Weird how he’s seem to slide the last few months - sbroads24
Hear that, JBotts? The 4th Period has Kane ranked 4th. Pack it in, give up. See ya at the draft... |

I think he's a draft day deal for someone willing to qualify him at his 4 mil |

The question is if anyone wants to do that. I still wont be surprised if hes not in the league 2 years from now. |

Im not calling for his head if he (frank)s it up,i just wonder how the sentiment for him will change going forward if he does. - TheHank
I know what you're saying.
The whole 2 (1sts) gets everyone ready to jump on jbotts.
Kane has some issues that some teams will just stay far away from. Especially the top teams.
Vegas
Tampa
Nashville
Why bring in a guy who could upset the apple cart.
I see a fringe playoff team takiing that chance

Calgary

Itsnot just kane though. Remember last year? Gmtm wanted more for franson and kulikov so he didnt trade them and they walked in the offseason.

Few and far between, deadline is usually about the brassards. Im not sure why vegas is that worried but Id say for the deadline brassard is an impact guy - Sabresfan-365
I understand that, but if you're going to be playing chess like that that's who you play chess for. Not Brassard, or Kane, or JVR, or Shattenkirk, or Carlson. |

Yikes. Although Sheary only has 12 goals this year. But, yeah. Looking dangerous (much like feetontheair) - Powerslave
Hagelin has fallen off the table too. |

Maybe flip him for a 3rd at the draft:
Basically hiring bylsma or talking with vesey for a month
If the sabres are serious about winning, he needs to go.
No way they pay him 4 plus or it's #tank 2018.
I have a strange feeling that he goes on the IR if he's not moved. This recent injury is a hint.

Playoffs are one big chess match when it comes to matchups. If youve got vegas' cap, throwing a bit away to prevent a conference competitor from going 3 deep at centre may not be so bad. |

of less importance to people here but I wonder if Botts will do anything for Roch. Tough month or so for them in the W/L column. |

Oh jeez, how nice would it be to trade Kane for a 1st to a fringe playoff team that doesn't make it. Far too much to hope for. Keeping expectations low for both deadline and lottery. Hope we can stay top 3 in the draft. |

I wonder if tpegs put the stop on all trades. Anticipating the firing of gmtm? It also kept a bunch of angry guys together and helped them finish 5th last.
Why not get anything for them?
A 6th for kulikov.
He signed for over 4 million this year |

They don't have to though, they can pull a Pittsburgh with Schultz last year. Although it's a bit different because Schultz got like a 400% raise. |

That would be classic, but I imagine it would be lottery protected.
I'm rooting super hard for top 5 pick including the buffaluck. |

For me the obvious moves have to be Kane and Benoit balls.
Gorges maybe, I just cant see anyone being interested
I know Lehner and Reinhart's names have popped up but if they happen those are more likely off season moves.
Id like to see them explore an andrighetto style trade. See if you can spot a contender who has unfairly given up on a young player or simply doesnt have the roster spots to give him playing time. - Sabresfan-365

TBL are fine when they're getting the production they're getting from things like Yanni Gourde. |

We could put Bennett with Mitts, then find another winger that can't do a pull up. Should be able to come up with a nickname for that line. |

It would take serious guts not to qualify your starting goalie and let him walk. I wouldn't hate it, but it's hard to imagine them doing it.
