I'm sure I've seen conditional picks moved before. In this case I believe it's only lottery protected which would make it this year's or next.

All true. I just think that it's overblown that "no one wants to play in Buffalo." Players sign here all the time, plus free agency isn't what it used to be so all they need to do there is buy low on some guys. The college thing, I will admit could be a problem, but Nelson and (KHL) antipin did sign here. Maybe that will get worse, but players pick different teams for different reasons. The sabres are a couple of very good draft picks, a couple of good trades and a few shrewd FA signings away from having a good culture, aka a good team. Of course, YMMV

Yea..Im just gonna have to disagree. I think we had a little glimmer of hope and good direction when Eichel was drafted and leading up to it. but since then its all gone to $hit. Players around the league talk. Cant imagine many have good things to say. The ONLY positive I see here is getting playing time/opportunity, but that didn't really work out for Antipin most recently. So idk

But, what is the real issue for players, though?

They know from the standings that Buffalo isn't a strong team yet. They know that the owner is willing to open his deep pockets. They know the owner has updated their locker room and equipment. So, what's the big hate for not wanting to come here, other than the fact that the team is not good yet? I'm mean, what do players say, "You don't want to go to Buffalo, because..."
