Because we are perpetual losers and no hope in sight. If you are a player that want to win and have a shot at the playoffs every year, then why the hell would you want to come here? Its really not that difficult to understand - MCGUIZZY
I understand perfectly that some players don't want to come to a last placed team, but they're not dumb either, they see the collection of young talent that's been being amassed here. Just like Lucic wanting to sign in Edmonton because of McDavid, players will start wanting to sign here as well once Casey, Guhle, and our first this year get their feet wet. |

I just don't think that anecdotally, at least, the FA signings line up with that. Recently they've signed Okposo, Nelson, Antipin, Falk, Fedun, Gionta wanted to come back, Vanek's agent said he wanted to come back, Pouliot. I mean, to me, the results say that players still come here. Like i said, FA isn't what it used to be, so those are at least mid-to-high-tier signings - jcragcrumple
The only notable signing. And like I said that was when there was hope with Eichel coming in. He just said last night in an interview that this is not where he expected the team would be and was pretty disappointed with where they were at. I have a feeling that if he could go back, he may have signed elsewhere.
The last sentence is my opinion. I'm just gonna leave it at that. I think we can agree to disagree about the rest. |

That's a strong poker face, for a rookie GM, waiting till last few hours. Hoping it works out of course!

And, what is that culture? Players are going to talk about themselves mailing it, and giving half-ass efforts. Pegula, GMJB, and Housley can't go out on the ice and do things for them. - sskkoo1

They came here because we paid the most. See ???? - fastek
The implication being that if it were really bad here, they could have taken less to play elsewhere. Also, typically, that's how FA signings work, with the noticeable exception of Shattenkirk (who is probably now kicking himself).

Why do the Sabres always make us wait all Deadline Day to consummate a deal? Maybe that is a true barometer of talent. Nobody has wanted it. |

But, if it's negative 24/7, than it's the players themselves who are to blame. I haven't heard how Pegula is mistreating anyone with all the money he's showering on them. |

What ever happens today, we still need to back this team. You never give up on the Sabres or the Bills no matter how long it takes. |

Just looked up Statsny's stats. For $7 million per year, he has been delivering between 40 and 49 pts over the past 4 seasons. - SabreWest

yet to be seen. My original point was that the reputation of this team will start getting better once the team starts winning and showing real potential. We are at the bottom of the league and have been for a while. When does the wining start? next year? 2 years from now? nobody knows. We are talking about adding a bunch of young players/rookies next year. Will it work out? who the hell knows? |
