Trying to look at the glass half full, they guys know each other and their habits. I think the few times you see Erod with Jack, they seemed to mesh. A lot goes into practices, knowing how guys work. And it's always easier to build confidence when you know the people around you. Saying this not the OReagan to be our new stud by any means, but again trying to shed positive light I guess.

I see two things here, way too much for Tatar (which I agree with), but Reinhart is worth way more than a 1st (they are they best in the NHL this year, so far, by the way) 2nd and 3rd.

But I want to knock Vegas for this move, but I laughed at their expansion draft and look at them now, so I can't knock them just yet.

The picks that were traded, the prospects that were traded, the players that were traded for. GMTM's best players brought to Buffalo by trade were O'Reilly who is a 50 point guy, Kane who was a 20 goal guy, and Bogosion who is a 20 game guy. GMTM's best moves were trading players away to get us Jack. I don't get why we're talking about this?

Yea I am not happy about that. Only thing I can think is that he is really rough or they know he wants to play somewhere specific next year and just moved him. Got to think we could pay more (2019 5th to be exact) for him.

I think people thought we had more than we did. This is not the 2014 Sabres offloading Miller and Vanek. The only player of value that we were looking to get rid of was Kane, who had a history, who was a good scorer, who is a free agent, who another GM bought high on and gambled on and failed with. We weren't sitting on a gold mine. The other names we could have traded are all average to below average players. Girgensons and Larsson have 9 goals between them, no one's trading for that. Gorges can't even hold a spot on the 30th place team in the league, who is giving up value for that? Where are people seeing this missed opportunity? The only one with any potential value was Pouliot and we can sit here and debate whether he was worth a 4th or a 5th but that shouldn't be enough for people to be ready to burn their jerseys.

Only way they resign him is if he plays really well and looks really good to the GM and loves SJ and wants to play at a value price. So basically he'll be hitting Free Agency. But we got a small chance of value that it'll be a first, which apparently is really important, so we should be happy.
