Stop being so naive. Doug Wilson has been a GM for over 15 years. You don't think he is calling other GM's to see what their offers are? The guy is one of the most respected GM's in the league. It's over and done with move on. - buffalokb

I know a Tomasello that a long time ago that got into the back seat of a car after a night of heavy drinking.
Thought IT was a chick, IT wasn't!
He proceeded to beat the (frank) out if IT right in the back seat. - Over50
Dude he got played I don’t understand how anybody can see that after the comments Doug made it’s pretty obvious they wanted to kane
I would’ve just hung up the god damn phone
Or just go behind his back and just moved him to a different team for second round pick in 2018 !
This is all on him you should’ve never trusted Kane to increase its value he should’ve moved him Months ago - GERBE!!!75PTS
You can hang up the phone and play hard ball if you have other options. Like it's been said repeatedly, they were the only team to give him a viable offer. He did not have the luxury of playing tough with the Sharks.
I can at least see the frustration if you believed he could have traded him earlier in the season for more. But what makes you think he had offers then? Once again, 29 other NHL clubs didn't want him yesterday. You have no proof they wanted him 2 months ago, either. Especially if the deciding factor was all of the off-ice issues Kane has had in his past. Those issues still existed 2 months ago.
This isn't NHL18. You can't just brute-force a trade to another club. You need to have a dance partner in order to get rid of a UFA with baggage. JB had one team to work with and he made the best of it.

I’ll wait until the other offers come out then I’ll judge but you can see he got played
The biggest rookie mistake was trusting a player to increase its value even more two months ago and it bit him in the ass

I thought it was a 'big deal'.
The Caps and I made a lot of money working downtown.

His job per Pegula standing there when he bought the team in his presser was to bring a Stanley Cup to Buffalo, multiple Stanley Cups, I didn't hear anything about revitalization of Buffalo. That was the " Sabres existence" per Pegula, everything else he's doing is a bonus.

How much did you end up making on that job 30,000 ? - GERBE!!!75PTS
There were quite a few big projects downtown because of the Pegulas.
I worked downtown on the Harbor Center as well as my crew and I did all of the concrete at the outdoor rink.
We did a portion of the cobble stone district as well.
I worked downtown for almost 4 years straight everyday.
That's where I met BED !

Yeah terry is an awesome person I just wish some people would realize that ..
I’m not sure if you were there but I was with Terry When they gave the construction workers lunch at the Lexus club for your hard work
Good morning Cab. I see you toughed it out in here last night, I admire your durability.
The Rockford Files and Magnum PI both deserve a little love.
I’m hoping we can flip the picks acquired yesterday to assets at the draft, and those draft day assets can help us sooner than the Picks would. I don’t have any desire to sit through another rebuild. - Der Kaiser
It was the best deal on the table not sure how he got bent over. If this deal was made 2 months ago maybe you say he got taken advantage of. Kane was just a toxic asset and unfortunately every GM viewed him that way. We all know Kane will most likely have a nice run in the playoffs so everyone should prepare themselves for that. - buffalokb
he got a player that might be a breakout kid next season in the nhl who has chemistry with jack
speed and skill
a second or first rd pick
a 4th
if that pick turns into a first, and regan contributes well as a second line winger next season
it's then a hockey trade, which is not a bad thing

The value for Kane was never that high. Teams didn't only just decide last week that his baggage was a problem. Maybe Botterill did overestimate his value, but if he did, he overestimated it from day 1, not as the deadline approached. - buffalofan19
Also, what Murray paid for Kane was a massive over payment. Botteril had to try and recoup some of that, hence the high value placed.
