He sang with the Gin Blossoms right?? Or was it the Bangles? - Der Kaiser
funny story
wife won tickets for the gin blossoms 2 years ago
so I took the night off of work, went to the bar with her (she has been to many shows over the years that she could have cared less with me)
the gin blossoms played the bubble gum radio songs
then they actually opened up and kind of sounded like a rock and roll band
after liking them for 10 minutes they closed the show with 2 more bubble gum songs |

Watching Vegas (not just tonight, but throughout the season)...
And seeing how Pitt won the Cup last year...
I’m questioning if u truly need a “top pair”
Pitt (without Letang) and Vegas all year basically are winning with 6 guys that are “2nd pair” quality
Breaking down Vegas, for example:
They all play between 19-21min apiece
But they use their guys in fairly specific ways
-Theodore & C.Miller are given considerably more off zone starts
-McNabb & England are used in just slightly more defensive situations than offensive
-And Schmidt & Sbisa are starting more in their own ends by a decent margin as well
Maybe we don’t need a guy like Doughty or Keith or Karlsson or Suter playing 28+ min a night
I’ve been campaigning (for a while) for a
3-scoring line type set up
Maybe it’s time to consider a defensive set up that doesn’t use a particular pair for 25min...
but just tries to put each player in roles that suit their abilities
Of course,
we still need to make some changes on the back end in order to be able to do this...
And i still want us to be “fallin for Dahlin”
but maybe we don’t need to build our defense in the traditional manner |

Wearing flannel and covering that song verbatim is all that band ever had going for them. The grunge era was a sad time for music. The good bands were good. Its just that the other 90-something percent got signed because they looked like Soundgarden, Nirvana, Pearl Jam or Mudhoney.

Ugh...
i already miss him
Hopefully Bailey can get to 100% and have a strong finish
He obviously doesn’t have Kane’s scoring ability, but he has been able to put the puck in the net in the AHL
If he can here, at least somewhat, then i think Bailey’s speed & physical play will fit in very nicely |

Just couldn’t get into grunge
Stone Temple Pilots were my favs from the genre,
but i was quite thankful when the punk revival of the early & mid90s happened |

Kind of darkly melodic if that makes sense
Your transitions could be smoother in parts

I bought the Gin Blossoms CD, back when I was bringing honeys Home to my place. Some of them liked that stuff. If you got 10 minutes of good music from them, you got all they had. |

Is it me or did every player traded make immediate impacts on their new teams?
The Bernier effect is strong in 2018...

Right on with the defense, but trying to get a coach to implement that strategy is like getting a cow to meow. In our case, why on God's green earth is Risto getting overplayed every single game on a 31st-place team? It does no good...we are still going to suck if he's dialed back (like the last 3 coaches we've had all said they were going to do), and getting guys like Nelson and Antipin more minutes (not 25 a night btw) is not going to stunt their development, and finally our one really good d man is getting wore down by February every single year. Kind of a parallel to calling up Baptiste. He does really well for a half a game on the top 6 and next thing he's playing 4 minutes a night with Nolan.
I really love what's going on in Rachacha with personnell and coaching but not so much here. |
