I don’t think they are that far off from each other, at all.
Armia’s shooting % has gotten better each three years he’s been in the league.
He’s not better than Kane, but really not a ton worse.
Kane plays a ton and shoots a ton, that’s why he scores. Really good goal scorers don’t shoot 9% - sbroads24
That's true, but not everyone that plays that much gets that many opportunities to shoot. Does he take some bad shots? Sure.
But it's sort of like bashing a guy that hits a lot of HRs because he strikes out a lot. |

That’s a good analogy.
This is why I think this team sucks. They don’t have players who are efficient.
They have players who do certain things well, while also having a ton of holes in their games |

idk i thought it was fairly specific - Sabresfan-365
I think there’s a lot more factors that go into it
And saying one team had Eichel, doesn’t cover those bases
What was the score when the pts were accrued? Did it matter, or was it garbage time (one way or the other)?
What was the competition they were scored against?
Who was on the ice with you?
Back to game situation, how was your team playing and how was the other team playing?
What i mean here is...
if you’re down by & pushing play while the other team is sitting back, you’re more likely to score than if you’re on the team that’s sitting back
And on, and on, and on
Just looking at raw 5v5 numbers only tells u a fraction of how that person actually played compared to another
That’s why there’s so many “outliers” when u look at these stats

So when i look up shooting percentage of all players now,
and list how a bunch of players that clearly aren’t as good, have better numbers than players widely considered to be better what then?
Come on dude
When the shot was taken...
who was defending, who was the goalie, where was it taken, for hand or backhand, time of game...
etc etc etc
Not every shot is equal
I know that u know that
No...
i don’t think it balances out
Not bc there aren’t enough shots,
but bc there’s so few goals
U see the “outliers” in shooting % bc (again) there’s more factors that go into
If Kane was on Winnipeg, he’d have better numbers
And if Armia was on the Sabres, he’d have worse |

You’re impossible.
You want answers that don’t exist.
Kane is not a great goal scorer. Niether is Armia.
Saying Armia would have worse numbers playing a few hundred minutes with Jack Eichel is one of the weirdest things you’ve posted. |

If we are doing this “burn it all down” strategy...
How does Eichel feel about it?
Are we just wasting years of his time?
We gotta do things to start improving
Look at what happened with Taylor Hall
We don’t want that here,
do we? |

This organization hasn't a clue as to what they are doing, how many times can you possibly rebuild in 5 years or more, this is a joke. |

You’re assuming that Armia is good enough to play with Eichel
That’s like when Pyatt went & played with the Sedins
He wasn’t this good goal scorer who deserved better opportunity
He was an average (at best) player who benefited from playing with them
In the end, he was still a 4th liner
Just like Armia just didn’t become a sniper
He’s a decent 3rd liner
Kane is a good top6 wing
I get what u mean about efficiency
But that doesn’t equate to talent & skill
What I’m saying is that SITUATION dictates (in a big way) efficiency
Just bc all the factors i bring up aren’t measured or kept track of,
doesn’t mean they aren’t relevant |

Kane is gone people it doesn't matter about numbers, 5x5, goals, let it go and avoid all the arguments. |

Why wouldn’t he be? He’s going to score 13-15 in a bottom 6 role. You really don’t think he’d have 20 with Jack?
This isn’t just one season of outliers. This is year 3 for Risto, O’Reilly, etc of not being a good 5 on 5 player.
Jack struggled his rookie year 5 on 5, and has since been amazing. Why doesn’t the environment argument apply to him? |
