There are about 9M people who live within 250km of Toronto (including Buffalo)..I have to believe that it could easily support another team. Each additional team is a $600M+ expansion fee, and increases league revenues, especially with the hockey-first fan base in Ontario. Place it far enough away from Buffalo, but still within the GTA, and the impact would be negligible.

I have to believe the aggregate financial benefit is positive. It just needs to make sense (meaning $money) for MLSE.

Actually...I didn't say "run"...I suggested giving them a financial motivation to say "yes", which could be a part share of the franchise, or a discount on the expansion fee. Like NH, I wouldn't trust them to "run" two competing clubs.

Just paying them cash would be another way to achieve a similar result, I just don't see the league being able to extract a $1B expansion fee, or willing to give up a huge piece of it to the MLSE.

...but enough on this...I care a lot more about the 'Nucks than another Toronto team
