Coyotes are 8 points behind us and we play them 3 more times in the next 18.

There's now a large collection of bottom six/fringe NHL'ers in the organization that Benning's put together. Motte seems to have just added to that pile.

I'd agree with you as there's only six spots and Gaunce, Granlund, Motte, Archy, Sutter, Gagner, Eriksson, Dowd, Virtanen, Boucher, Molino etc. are all bottom six guys. Baertschi and Goldobin are tweeners and probably are best served as third line guys with a good center.

Still void of some higher-end talent, Leipsic had a good first showing, maybe he's like those guys in Vegas that just needed opportunity and icetime?

A lot of these guys aren’t long term solutions. Dowd and Archy are UFA, a bunch others RFA’s and Gags/Loui well, you know. If the Twins are back next year though, no idea how they will get all those guys to Utica without loosing them to waivers.

At the time Crouse was the cost to get rid of Bolland, but now...

I think Benning would be wise to hang onto Archy, the guy brings size, toughness and energy when he's committed. Consistency is perhaps his downfall? Needs to bring it every night to be a regular NHL player.

I could see them bringing back the Sedins for a year, I don't want that, because after four years they still don't have anyone beyond Boeser and Horvat to fill a top six role, which is sad.

Hopefully Pettersson can come in and find the same quick success as Boeser.

I wonder when the last time is that the Phoenix/Arizona franchise actually spent to the floor, not including for players who don’t actually play.

As much as the team “needs” the Sedins to come back for another season to remain “competitive”, I would much rather bite the bullet and actually be bad (or more likely, less bad than they are now but with less expectation) for one more year. I feel like a bunch of these kids are going to be transitioning in over the next 2-3 years.

Agree on Archie, like Dorsett he gives you everything he’s got. Maybe not $2.5m worth, but for less then $1.1m (what you can bury in the minors) he’s worth it.

He's actually still really young at just 20 years old, IMO they rushed him into the league and this is what happens. Needs more development time.

Not unlike Virtanen he was probably picked before he should've been and he needs to develop and mature.

They're a lot more entertaining without them, at least IMO, but someone's still gotta fill those PP minutes and second line duty.

We are in for another bottom 10 finish, anyways, so who cares if we use 3rd and 4th liners on the PP and 2nd line.
The draft is in Vancouver next year, so a top pick could add a nice buzz for that event.

It would get filled. It might not be pretty all the time, but I bet you they finish with more points without the twins than with them. No way to test this obviously, just my opinion (so back off Makita)

I’m in town and going to game tomorrow. Got to get a look at the youth.... lol

When is Gaudette and EP signing...? They’ll add to and upgrade on the BB and Bo talent. Then we are talking fast and exciting Canuck hockey....

I want too see wins, but we still need lots more high-end talent in the system, so would rather see players oit on ice like Motte, Leipsic, Gaunce Sven Granlind or anyone else that actually has some speed.
The Sedins get harder and harder too watch every game
I just want too see something different after 20 years of these guys.😁

I feel like there would be less pressure to win, but that they would actually win more.

Edit - or less, who really cares, just need to transition.

This is the problem when both your gm and team president are former NHL players. Too much loyalty being shown to these players. Linden especially... we'd be much better off with an office that wasn't full of canucks alumni
