Yeah BUT even a rookie WR, should be able to..... like catch a football...
Call me crazy.. - gordong
Was that percentage from Woods catching passes from Goff? I bet Zay would fair better with a real QB.. Zay caught and dropped some key passes this season.

So, for as much crap thrown at GMTM for unloading a bevy of draft picks and players for the likes of ROR, Kane, Bogo ... he then gets credit for finding, for free Antipin, Nelson, ERod, CJ Smith, drafting a Guhle, Asplund, Pu ... right?

The bar must of had an extensive sports package to find all those players.

I thought Kane was gliding after mid November as well ...
Or was he throwing the big middle finger at Kim Pegula and f’ing up the trade return?
If so, does he then shove it so far up her ... pick a spot...by leaving SJ thereby keeping it only a 2nd?

Yes, which makes it kind of worse he was so quick to unload picks.....
add Victor Olofsson to that list too, he just might turn into something. did he draft Borgen???

I think if he likes playing there he will resign there... but lets face it it's going to come down to money (like 99.8% of the time)

Yes, but those are players every team finds.
Rodrigues I believe might turn out to be something pretty decent. CJ Smith has cooled off from his blazing start, and we have 0 clue about Pu and Asplund.
I like Nelson but I really can’t tell where he ends up long term.

CJ is hurt, Pu and asplund are having good years... And Asplund was the best sabre at development camp.. I expect he will be at least a good 3rd line center. and we really cant say every team cause the sabres have been so bad at drafting until recently.

And JBotts saying on Monday that he had really good talks with several GMs that might turn into something in the OS ... maybe he unloads some of the guys we have debated about ... ROR? Reino?
I like ROR, but as I said a couple of months ago, his age just doesn’t line up as nicely as it used to with the Sabres new rebuild timeline. It isn’t a problem play wise, just contract wise and he’ll be 29/30 when the Sabres are ready to really roll ... would just like to have a less expensive, younger player ... especially if he is only needed as a 3C or so.
Reino - keep playing well so he can unload your lazy ass for a quality player!

If the Sabres win the lottery, I would definitely THINK about trading back 1 - 3 slots...might be a good way to get a couple of very very solid players rather than just 1....through a combination of an additional 1 (2020) or an A Prospect.
I would listen to the pitches and drive 1 or 2 hard to see if it could be worth it.
Gotta at least listen right?
I mean, IF the Sabres listened to deals in the Eichel draft and could have gotten TO’s 1st in 2016 to get Matthews AND another top 6 or top 2 ... would it have been so bad?

Take dahlin. Unless Arizona is picking 3rd and wants to give us OEL to move up two spots and we end up with one of Svech or Z but even that is a stretch.

Toronto doesn't tank if they have no first round pick.

If GMJB tells the Sabres camp at the draft that he is trading the 1st overall, he will be tackled and fired immediately before he can actually make the trade.

Maybe JBotts should ask Timmy back for guidance on who to target this year! - IonSabres
I think JBotts is equally good at drafting. Let's face it, he had options at #8 and he picked Mittelstadt where very few people here wanted him selected. He was probably the one guy in the top dozen or so who I did the least amount of research on. So it looks like he nailed his first 1st round pick and it wasn't a given like selecting Eichel. Davidsson is young but looks decent, and the goalie was one of the top 2 on the board.
I wish JBotts would have received a few more picks at the deadline because it would be interesting to see where he goes with them. Maybe he'll make some draft day moves and pick up a few others.

Bryson looks good (4th round) as does Weisbach (7th round) has just as many points as Mittelstadt as a freshman at Wisconsin

I believe one of the so called core players will be gone on draft day. It's anybody's guess who but i guess odds would be Reinhart.
I didn't realize Poile became the all time wins leader among GMs
Good for him, hes taken heat (deservedly) for some of his moves but even when the preds looked they were going to be a failed rebuild he turned that poop around real quick.
