sure.

...but this "negative media" angle is constant and flares up once in a while. it's kind of funny if you think about it. the story is that the media is so negative it roils up the fans.

from where i'm sitting, it's not really anger that's setting in, it's apathy. if there's anger, the team should be thankful that there is still some emotion left in the fans. once the anger dissipates... well, you either better be good or watch the media drone on about how the fans don't care (cued by a gm presser asking for a quarter and a phone.)

I can agree to that. The best way to turn this around is for the canucks to show progress through solid hockey management. Gain the trust of the fan base again.

It's not just about wins and losses. He's created a hockey market in a place where hockey never existed. Built a strong franchise and did it with very few mistakes. Never afraid to make the 'big move'. Drafting and developing has been fantastic. Product has been relatively competitive and enjoyable to watch through its whole existence.

Hell, he even got one of his players to marry a local country music superstar.

Model NHL franchise in my opinion. He's basically written the book on how to start an expansion franchise correctly. Love is well deserved.

Meh....He's just ok, traded the 15th overall pick to Quebec that they used to select Joe Sakic and also traded the 15th overall pick that Ottawa used to select Karlsson.

he seems fixated on dmen but hes never won in almost 40 years as a GM building that way. Perhaps if he'd have drafted a number one center at some point he might have won something?
