...does he make a line change like the Sedins?
- Marwood

Exactly. They’re setting good examples of what not to do.

Gotta let them Kobe out the rest of their season

Thanks Carol

Sign Carlson 12m x 2 years

Trade him to someone at next deadline to someone desperate enough, with 50 percent retained, that they have to take Eriksson as well.

Probably a level of selfishness in it. Trying to defend himself with reasoning out loud on his decision making. Rookie coaches wither under constant scrutiny. The thick skin comes further down the road.

I think this is exactly what is going on. He's got a long way to go to becoming babcock.

Why would any College D prospects come to Van? All 8 guys signed for next season. Everyone of them needing waivers.

put me in the camp of: who gives a sh!t, but, apparently it's either green had to explain why goldy gets benched/lesser minutes and was direct and honest to the player and media; or
he threw the player under the bus.

both and neither are the complete answer.

From last blog Bettmanhatesus.

Same with players like Anthony Mantha. Struggled in his first couple seasons in the AHL but came around. He played 130 AHL games.
Julien Gauthier in his first season with the Charlotte Checkers is on the same point pace as JV was.

Jake only played 67 AHL games.

I know development as much as the next guy but they need to play the kids, Lind and Olli will be 20 next season, that's getting close to their peak years, if they're gonna bust, let them bust at the NHL level.
We should play Lind, gadj, EP, OJ, DT, GB for the first 20 games in the nhl next season to see what we have.

sure.

...but this "negative media" angle is constant and flares up once in a while. it's kind of funny if you think about it. the story is that the media is so negative it roils up the fans.

from where i'm sitting, it's not really anger that's setting in, it's apathy. if there's anger, the team should be thankful that there is still some emotion left in the fans. once the anger dissipates... well, you either better be good or watch the media drone on about how the fans don't care (cued by a gm presser asking for a quarter and a phone.)

What by playing possession hockey for 30seconds to a minute in the offensive zone then doing a line change, do you want them going back to backcheck tired.

I would like to see some consistency when calling out players. If you are going to call out the young guys frequently it would be nice to see him through a jab at a veteran from time to time. Call out an embarrassing line change from a vet, call out the half-assed, one-handed stick swing as a pathetic back-check, or call out the lazy hooking penalty in the offensive zone.
This is all part of my mixed messages frustration.

It is not like Green is the only coach do this kind of thing from time to time. I remember last year Bill Peters doing ten times worth in the media about Eddie Lack. Sometimes they have several of these conversations and they deliberately mention it to the media it to reinforce the message to a player who is not getting it.

As for not doing the same things for the veterans, that is untrue. He mentioned in the media last summer that he talked to the Sedins and told them they had to be better this year, that they just were not good enough last year.

has Green called out MDZ/LE/Sedins/Gagner/Granlund/Sutter/Gudbranson once this year? Pretty quick to call out the inconsistencies with players who are in the ELC's, but than can't hold vets accountable for poop.

Pretty much every coach in the league is harder on the young guys. Anyone expecting Green to be any different was setting themselves up for disappointment
