Goldy was in a few times last game on the forecheck hard and came away with the puck. He is getting it. I don't know if he is ever going to be "hard" to play against. He just needs to want the puck more and to go get it himself. Being the skilled player he is, you would think he would want it on his stick more often.
Archie during Mic'd up was telling Goldy to "cmon Goldy, work work work." Goldy gave him a big smile while chewing on his mouth guard.
I wonder if Goldy understood that Archie a 28 year old, that has worked his ass off to play in the NHL. Goldy worked half as hard as Archie has, Goldy would be a legit top 6 player already. - manvanfan
My take is biased & simple. Russians play on the big ice where they can roam around. Once its the NHL it shows why they lose out so often in international play due to lack of desire or the will to fight for the puck. They don’t know what a lunch bucket is.

I think it's pretty ridiculous to paint them all with the same brush. There's plenty of one dimensional north american players too.
You mentioned Datsyuk, who was a great 3 zone player. Malkin is a beast and has taken over playoff series.
Chubarov in Van was a checking line center.
Radulov in Montreal last and Dallas this year has been praised for his compete level.
Kucherov and Taranseko don't float anymore than the top north american scorers.
Anisimov in Chicago plays a 2-way game. |

Canada has the most complete players. Euro's all have their different types. I think a little sprinkle of everything is good. |

I realize AV told Torres and Lapierre to cool it but really it cost us. Bruins were shooting pucks in warmup at our players and our net and if I was coaching the Nucks at that time I would have had Salo load up and fire pucks into the Bruins bench...f**ck them... - LordHumungous
Hank admitted after the series AV told them take the cheap shots and punches for the calls. Fail coaching.

One brush maybe but internationally they rarely win anything. Sure some are very good but they are generally enigmas as a whole. I said Datsyuk was not included & bucks the trend. Radulov no thx self serving is all he is. Malkin i never included as lazy. Kucherov & Tarasenko are great regular season talents so far. Stars are fine but its cups that measure players. |

Internationally I think they've been hurt by having a way worse dcore and shoddy coaching compared to CAN/RUS/USA, to me that's holding that back more than the forwards are lol
And of course they have less cups, there's like 30 Russians in the league today compared to what? 200+ Canadians?
IMO every country has their fair share of lazy one dimensional players. An argument I'll buy is that the Euro countries do have softer players, but in today's game you don't have to be hitter to be sound defensively. |

All good other than the hunger & desire comes from within not coaching.
Goldy you listening to your coach? |

Vancouver looks outclassed (so far), but i like the speed and tenacity when they have the puck. |
