It's not really the same though. If OEL was just drafted last year, then yeah, that's one thing, but he's going to be 27 when next season starts. Mittelstadt will be 19, almost 20. That's a massive gulf in today's NHL.

Believe it or not an English soccer team got dangerously close at one point. They were just on the cusp of promotion to the premier league one year and then in a 5 year stretch dropped 99 spots! to the 6th division, which is one higher than where youth academies and high schools play.

As I understand if Minnesota loses against wisconsin in their next game they miss out on the NCAA tourney? huge blow for the gophers but does end Casey's season earlier than expected
