Cant let him flounder again. Need to show his numbers. Need 23 more picks for the 2019 draft.

A few articles have got me wondering what all these kids are gonna actually become. I'm hoping for at least two top six forwards out of the group on the way.

Just read Daniel Wagner’s new PITB and this quote stuck out to me:

“To paraphrase one Canucks fan on Twitter, I would rather have an unscratched lotto ticket that still has a chance to win a jackpot, than one already scratched that is a one-dollar winner.”

A one dollar winner and an un-scratched ticket have exactly the same value, which is an un-scratched ticket (costs $1)

#Canucks  prospect Jakub Stukel with 2 goals and 2 assists today for Calgary Hitmen

He now has 58 PTS (34-24-58) in 64 WHL games - was named the WHL Third Star for today

Wonder if they will sign him to ELC?

Not if you bought them yourself, and assuming that they cost a dollar:

You've paid one dollar for the first one and won one dollar back, therefor breaking even.

You've paid one dollar for the second one, and it has an unknown post-scratch value. Could be zero, a dollar, ten dollars, or a thousand.

To get like 3/5 of Demko, OJ, Petterson, Lind and Gaudette to pan out would be incredible.

Any of Gadjovich, Dahlen, Chatfield, Dipietro, Lockwood, etc. panning out would just be gravy.

Boy does the pipeline ever need those guys who can skate backwords.

But the $1 winner buys you another $1 ticket, which you can then scratch, and lose #voluntarytaxation

Well there is 21 open contracts for next year, so maybe.

Still need another ~10 guys for the roster. Plus like 80% of Utica needs contracts.

I guess it depends how many of the prospects who can go pro they want on the farm next year.

I think (hope) they are better with their AHL “veteran” contract situation next season, so I could see some of their older guys not getting offered NHL deals if they are back with the club

I would be suprised if he is signed. He has actually regressed from his draft season.

?

How do you figure? His goal totals have increased significantly, as has his points per game. PIM’s creeping up, +/- coming down. Not saying he’s an NHLer, but compared to MacKenzie Stewart...

Edit, oh, I see what you mean, was looking at D+1

the farm for next year needs work. a lot of bodies and contracts need filling and a lot of guys are losing their freebie pass for waivers this off season.

You'd think the plan might be to load it up with kids. Gaudette, Petterson, Dahlen, Lind, Gadjovich (?), OJ.

yeah, for a D+2 player he's not really tearing the doors off like you'd expect.

it doesn't hurt to sign him but if the team ends up pushing a little too close to 45 contracts then you're likely not missing out letting him go

Just read online. Peter Chirelli has traded Kessel, Wheeler, Seguin, Hall, Eberle, Rickell (pick), Barzal (pick). That is a talented forward group to get rid of, and each trade netting a significantly worse player. Picks are obv subjective but still. Wow

He's also terrible at cap management because he gives edge of the roster players money and term.

Now who could have seen that being an issue in Edmonton with a wealth of young talent, high picks, and loads of cap flexibility.

Boucher, Reid RFA
Chaput, Michael RFA
Carcone, Michael RFA
Sautner, Ashton RFA
Megna, Jayson UFA
McEneny, Evan RFA
Stewart, MacKenze RFA
Labate, Joseph UFA
Wiercioch, Patrick UFA
Bachman, Richard UFA
Cederholm, Anton RFA
Cassels, Cole RFA

I could see several of these guys let go at the end of the season.

Yes, I meant Draft season not D+1. Not even a PPG in his D+2 is pretty weak. The team has regressed but still...
