Pres walks a fine line. Seems a little heavy handed to me, but thanks for the clarification.

I was also surprised to see Pres getting 2 months.

I haven't been around much lately, it's fiscal year end and I have a ton of work to have completed by months end. But last night I logged on and had seen 2 PM's 24hrs apart from VHG, he sent both to WhiteLie and myself.

This is a portion of my reply.
I will agree with you that all refs are not equal, just because another ref decides to ban for something as simple as that (VHG post that he was banned for), doesn’t mean that I have retaliate against any other fan of another team.
It’s really too bad that, that is what happens here, whatever happened to fan rivalry banter, Tumbleweed and walshyleafan are not (IMO) causing any issues.
I would have chuckled at your post as a ref, but I’m not changing my standards and going tit for tat because of leaf insecurity about their team.
And I will also cc WhiteLie.

So overall we all (refs) have different standards, and as far as I'm concerned Carols blogs are the best on this site and as fans, you guys overall are pretty good posters. But please don't get caught up in what other refs do or don't do.

Thanks.

Just read online. Peter Chirelli has traded Kessel, Wheeler, Seguin, Hall, Eberle, Rickell (pick), Barzal (pick). That is a talented forward group to get rid of, and each trade netting a significantly worse player. Picks are obv subjective but still. Wow

Chiarelli is a joke.

I can't believe he was in such demand after he was fired in Boston.

I could see several of these guys let go at the end of the season.

Sure, but they still need to be replaced. Guys on AHL contracts would likely all be "veterans" and could run into a similar issue they had this year if they rely on that to fill it out.

Bolded the ones I can see them keeping.

Walshy, auston and Tumbleweed i actually like. Friendly banter is always fine. Senscups is a different story.

I liked McEneny last year, he looked solid in his short stint in Vancouver and people who watched Utica seemed to be high on him. I’d give him a 1 year deal.

#traitor

I agree, Walshy and Tumbler are decent folk, even Buston when he actually writes something beyond “Thanks Carol”. I read through all the pages in the Leaf thread and I can see why they come over here for a chat now and again...

Okposo. Ryan. Steen.

I could also totally see Bjugstad but RNH isn't Old School enough for Tallon.

The talk around town is they were trying to trade RNH for Ceci or Dumba the same offseason they traded Hall for Larsson.

didn’t they also offer Hall for Ceci?

I could see Steen + spare part for RNH

My keeper list was basically the same. Point was that if Gaudette, Lind Gadjovich etc don’t make the Canucks next season, then needing a Megna on an $800k one way contract (or whatever he makes) will be unnecessary.

Travis Greens mom called him last night after hearing Goldobin was odd man out in practice. Told her he was playing. Goldy and Jokinen are in, dowd is out.

Gaudette is likely the only one close. And honestly, its not the worst thing to have him in the AHL learning how to play hockey instead of stuck in the Virtanen role picking his nose in the NHL.

I could see Weircioch being kept as well. Defense will be an issue for a couple more seasons in this organization and he at least provides some depth.

Yeah apparently Ceci was their main target that summer. Larsson was plan B.

Depending how much stock you want to give to the guys that reported that stuff, the plan was also to pray that Burns/Seabrook would get to UFA so they could sign them.

I'll never get the love for Ceci. He's the perfect example of how not to develop a defenceman by forcing them into the NHL before their ability to make positive plays has developed so they turn into Luke Schenn.

But yet the Oilers were 60 min away from the Conference finals last year if not with Gary's zebras missing the 2 offsides and 2 Goalie interference calls that cost the Oilers the series. Eberle was invisible in PO's too no shock that he was moved...but they do miss his regular season points to be sure. McDavid and Draisaitl are too good to keep down for too long. Chia will add something in the off season they'll be back in the thick of it next year. Took Crosby and Malkin almost 3 years to bring PIT into contention. Something similar could happen in EDM.

If people thought Vanek was slow, I can't wait for them to see Jokinen try to move up ice.
