I’ve written them multiple emails trying to get them to cover the Canucks. They keep saying they’ll look into it but nothing.

Not sure Sven or Granlund would be moved but I could MDZ moved at the draft.

Better to move players at the TDL. At the draft, most GM’s aren’t that interested in 3rd liners and #4/5 dmen with free agency on the horizon.

pick + cap space to sign UFA > trading for similar player

cost certainty + known quantity player trade > pick (especially if not in the first 3 rounds) + inflated contract UFA signing

In some cases, yeah you’re right.

But how often do depth players get moved at the draft for anything decent? Compare that to the TDL..

It depends on your definition of decent, no 5/6/7th D or bottom six forward gets much regardless of TDL or at the draft. A lot depends on the player, their history/achievements/notoriety, some get more and some get less. When you're trading for spare parts you're not expecting a whole lot either from who you're getting and what you're giving up.

100%

I’m just saying, I think guys like Hansen/Burrows for example had more value at the TDL than at the draft.

Pure speculation on my part. Just an opinion

I’d agree. Teams get injuries, people under perform all season, other teams load up for a push, definetly get more for depth guys at TDL. If teams UFAs don’t pan out and they need to make Changes

I wonder what the scouts think of this guy on EPs team. Only 23 and good stats for SHL.

From 31 thoughts a while back...

A number of NHL teams were in Sweden over the last couple of weeks to scout potential free agents. There are four I know of: defencemen Lawrence Pilut (age 22) and Joel Persson (23); winger Michael Lindqvist (23) and centre Par Lindholm (26). Pilut’s father, Larry, was born in Detroit and played in the NCAA before going to Sweden, where he settled. Among the teams who were watching: Boston, Calgary, Chicago, Nashville, Vancouver and the Rangers. Likely more.

Doubt they will move MDZ.

If Sedans are back next year Granlund needs to go. But if there is a chance for more TOI for Granlund he could repeat his performance from last season.

Baertchi is just the forward version of Tanev...trade trade trade trade....

Will they care 8d though? I think Biega is starting to get noticed. He would be a waiver wire loss. He or Pouliot.
