I wanted to play rugby but the concussion issue scared me off. Too many of my friends here couldn't follow along in class or read at the speed necessary because they got smoked in the face in rugby. But there's a reason getting the soccer club up and doing well was so hard: Rugby was, and still is, king at Albany Law.

If he's not a part of the NCAA tournament, and he and the Sabres decide the best thing for him is to sign a contract, they'll both want him to play in the playoffs for the Amerks and probably test his skill in Buffalo. It's said that CM is a highly competitive kid. I doubt he'd want to sit out the playoffs for the Amerks. Pending their mutual decision of pro vs college of course.

I want to see him in Blue and Gold too, but I say sign some other College FA's and get them some time in NHL and worry about Mittlestadt right after. We will get him on our team next year, I think.

The Sabres are all about "earning your chance" so they only way I see that is if Kyle C (hurt last night) is out for the year. Cause he earned the chance to play. I can't see them signing CM and just putting him in over another guy who played in AHL all year helping Rochester get there, but maybe I am way off point on that.

Agreed fully. I'm just excited about his readiness to play. He should be a Sabre on opening day next year.

If the gophers suck there is not much benefit to leaving him there for another year. He would learn more in the AHL
