Camels burn diesel fuel, just like my truck

Love to see Alberta turn off the tap and really raise the prices.

Nothing decided yet, nothing official yet, but April 28 is being looked at by the NHL as a potential date for the Draft Lottery. LeBrun

Transportation will wean itself off fossil fuel but manufacturing will still gobble it up like it's an endless supply.

Gas prices are now sitting at $150.9 per litre at some stations in Vancouver. And there are reports prices could go up even more in the coming days.
- LeftCoaster

Someone told me last week gas in Langley at a few stations was 162.9

Maybe if Horgan would quit being a jackass and allow the pipeline to go through you guys would get a break on fuel...

One day, but not in our lifetime, consumption of fossil fuels is actually increasing.

Not a fan, they are just getting into the truck market, but not my cup of tea. Great concept if they can reduce the price of new and make them more affordable on the second hand market because the majority of people dont buy new vehicles.

Yes, consumption is going up but not because of "western" culture's transportation growth like it's been since the 50s. Countries like China have a new middle class and they are consuming oil like crazy. But in Europe and North America reliance on fossil fuel is decreasing.

As we become more energy conscious we've decreased our needs. We have people like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, and Warren Buffett changing their personal investment portfolios away from oil and into alternative energy signals a shift in available investment funding. You have people like Musk pushing the envelope on viable technology and that's what the movement needed.

With every rise in fuel costs makes alternate energy more attainable.

Technology moves in leaps and bounds, often exponentially.. so depending on your lifetime versus mine (I'm 30), another 50 years from now it's not without idea that personal vehicles will be near extinction for the majority of people (more than likely the Western world, but possibly Asia/India.) Self-driving vehicles are coming fast, and most or all companies will use electric vehicles.

Not talking about fossil fuel use as a whole, this is started from gas prices for vehicles

With the population in India and China making up almost half of the globe's they'll continue to use cheaper energy sources as they can't afford alternative.

We need to develop cheap alternatives, but again, won't happen in my lifetime.

Western societies for sure, but we live in a bubble, half of the world's population, India, China, Asia don't have our salaries or luxuries. It's not even plausible for them.

And don't forget the rednecks, lol, and the Arabs, they'll never have interest in a vehicle with no power and you can't hear.

Sadly agreed – their reliance on coal is a huge part of their energy consumption. Sort of hypocritical to tell them to use alternatives and sustainables when we're not even there yet.

So true, that's why there is still a market for coal. But that has to change and China (not so much India) knows it. That's why they are investing $360B to change their energy-use system to sustainable energy. That's more direct investment than US and Canada combined.

The world is changing my friend and it's changing quickly. As an investor I know what horse I'm putting my money on.
