It’s almost impossible to compare QBs from different generations
How many yards would Marino throw for in today’s NFL?
6,000? More maybe?
And he wasn’t throwing to Jerry Rice either
Did anyone Marino played with make it to the Hall of Fame?
Heck... I’ll bet there weren’t even that many ProBowlers
Miami did a terrible job surrounding him with talent - jdfitz77
Oh man come on .. Mark Clayton and Mark Duper were the cream of the crop in their ERA's |

That sums it up. I kinda agree with you now.
I'm worried about:
A rookie qb is going to be a step back : most likely over foles. Especially a guy taken at 22
I want the bills to be good next year. I think foles would be an upgrade to ty . Probably close to Smith?
Maybe 2 more wins. It's debatable - Boss34
Yeah,
You’re probably right about Foles over Tyrod
But unless we think he’s gonna be our “Franchise” guy, or at least QB for the next 4-5 years...
it just makes more sense to me to sign a UFA instead of trading a pick for a 1 year starter
We could use that pick to fill a hole instead
A rookie QB might be a step back
So i would sign a UFA to a 2year deal
Let (presumably) Rudolph or Jackson start when they’re “ready” |

The Carolina Hurricanes lead the league in faceoff percentage and currently do not hold a playoff spot... - buffalofan19
They're an all around weird team. Always in the top of the table as far as Corsi is concerned, yet they are never any good. |

why are they not in the Hall of Fame?
They weren’t scrubs,
but Marino made them |

Well put.
We all thought hasek was the greatest here in buffalo.
The rings and the Olympics made him arguably the greatest everywhere. Not just sabres fans - Boss34
I don’t think we were biased though about Hasek
The Olympics & Cup wins with Detroit made him more of a “presence” to the public
I don’t think they made him a better player

Well spoken.
Do you feel like Marino is greater than ?
Brady
Manning
Montana
Farve - Boss34
Why does Aikman never get any love?
He's got 3 rings, in the Hall of Fame, I don't think a single person that's not a Cowboys super fan would say Aikman was better than Marino.
So it's more than just winning. |

Clayton- 5 pro bowls
Duper- 3 pro bowls
Marino- 9 pro bowls, Hall of fame
Even if i agreed they were among the better WRs of their time...
Marino is among the best at his position of ALL time
I think it’s pretty cut & dry that Marino made them |

Good point
Imagine if Marino was on those Cowboys teams
Or on the 49ers
Marino to Rice would’ve put up numbers comparable to how dominant Gretzky was |

You can't be serious with that comment.
I grew up watching Marino and nobody threw the ball like him.
He used to tell cornerbacks where the ball was going and they couldn't do anything about it.
His numbers would be joke in the modern NFL the way they cater to the offense.
He also shredded the defense many believe is up there as maybe the greatest in a single season of all time. |

The “Marks Brothers” were good,
but they were good like the “3 amigos” in Denver were good
They weren’t any better than guys like Webster Slaughter, Al Toon, John Taylor, Willie Gault, Earnest Givens, Anthony Carter, Irving Fryer, and on & on & on
I could probably list at least 10 more that were all roughly in the same tier as them
There’s 10 WRs from that Era in the Hall of Fame
The Marks Bros don’t even come close |

Interesting being Farve was batter in pretty much every statistical category plus he has a ring.
Side note Brees plays 2 more yrs as a starter and he’ll hold all the important records for a QB, oh and he has one........ just saying. |

I like your attitude
Easier to discuss this topic
I'm just not sure if any player in any sport can be the greatest without ever winning a championship?
Tiger/ jack
Jordan/bird/kobe/magic/LeBron
Gretsky/lemieux/ crosby/ howe/ orr/ hasek
Babe Ruth / every other yankee/
Brady/ manning/ farve/ rodgers/ Montana
See the common thread. Winning.
Can you come up with the greatest without ever winning?
Just curious. Pete rose? - Boss34

Marino’s center made the HOF.......
Had Marino not been an egotistical POS and allowed a running game, I’d hedge a bet they win one.
Richmond Webb was A pro bowl lineman 90-96
His center Dwight Stephenson was his HOF center.
Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas were also Pro Bowlers while he was there.

Aikman and Bradshaw.
Only reason they’re in the HOF is post season. They’re regular season stats are some of the worst in the HOF. Talk about game managers.. |

To be fair, he got the ball out faster than anybody I've ever seen. It was rough trying to sack him. |

I still believe that if they hadn't lost to Steve (frank)ing Grogan in the AFC championship game, they'd have beaten the Bears in the Super Bowl. |

Barry Sanders behind the Cowboys ol? Come on. Emmitt was a great back but IMO Thomas and Sanders were by far better. Plus, great he holds the record but Payton was the man. He wallowed on many a sh1tty Bears teams. |

Buddy Ryan would’ve eaten him alive.
Marino has zero weapons.
Walter Payton who’s a top 5-10 player of all time didn’t score in that super bowl. |

You remember they crushed the Bears in I believe a Monday night game that season with Marino having his way against that defense? It was the Bears only loss.
Also, frank that pompous dbag Buddy Ryan. |

Beat the 49ers by 16 in the regular season, smoked the Giants 21-0 in the playoffs, oh and blanked D!ckerson and the Rams 24-0. They allowed 10 points that post season. 10......... just saying |

I get it, and I'm an unabashed Marino fan, but they exposed that defense like no other team. Buddy's vaunted schemes didn't seem too effective in that game. |
