I said earlier minus scandella, I just didn't say it in my last post. Kulikov was bad when he was with us.
It's crazy he got better when he got put on a better team.
You came up with two names of players to say that risto doesn't play with ahlers. One of them isn't even on the team anymore.
I would think you'd be one of the people that agreed with me since you still cry over Myers being traded. - zombres
When you at the arena, live in person you can really see ristos game. He's constantly disrupting the other stars.
Guys chasing him around, clearing the front of the net
Not sure, but I heard he's 29th in defensive scoring?
Missed 11 games too

I assumed you meant Ristolainen’s recent partners.
I don’t think Ristolainen is bad. He’s just not that good.
If he didn’t play physically he’d be looked at the same way Myers was |

when you go to the hyperbole of risto for hypothetically doughty or other top pair d-man as "one of the worst trades in franchise history", you open yourself up to that reaction. Not that I was right to do so, just saying.
The thing that sticks out about risto is his numbers being just as bad or worse than the "ahl at best" guys.
It would be one thing if Ristolainen was piling up points but was being left hung out to dry by his ahl teammates, but eye test and stats indicate that he's way in over his head in that role.
As for your edit, eichel wasn't underperforming, his so called core teammates were. He was creating as many chances then as he did post christmas break, what changed was that guys like ROR and Reinhart finally got their heads out of there asses. - Sabresfan-365
I would actually call that a horrible trade regarding Doughty because you would be paying him what, $8M per, $9M per on a long term deal the year he turns 30.
As you know and have said, now is not the time for that move. |

Nice 39,
I'm on board. Need the ring to be the greatest in my opinion. The ring doesn't instantly make you the greatest.
I really like Big Ben's touch as well as early Peyton.

I still believe, probably foolishly, that Risto can be a number 2 if the number 1 is tremendous.
However, Buffalo will be a good team only when Risto is a number 3 and playing number 3 minutes due to having a true top quality top pair. |

Brady gets the ball out quicker than anyone / ever
Again just my opinions.

40+ point d man who is physical. That is who he is. He is over worked and under appreciated by this city And it's fans. He is good, and once he has real help, he will probably be great. |

40 point powerplay specialist who can't play defence. There's two sides to this story, physicality that translates into nothing meaningful is exactly how phaneuf ruined the leafs. They bit and it cost them. |

He’s 4th in ice time per game. Of course he’s going to pile up points.
I honestly don’t get what’s so impressive about him. Because he hits people?
He is a fine player. Good 2nd pairing D man once were competent.

So if he's a 3rd defenseman, he's below the 62nd best defenseman in the league?
No way.

Read more. I flat out said ristolainen is good.
Eichel is a star, stars can produce even with crappy players
risto is not a top pair guy, can't lead the d-core especially if it's made up of dead weight
a top pair guy can still produce despite his crappy teammates.
Bringing him down to 20 minutes would effectively make him a 2nd pair guy, kinda proves the point - Sabresfan-365
He has 33 points in 58 games on a team that barely scores

Except Phaneuf was over paid by about 3 mil
Risto is paid perfectly, even if he becomes just a 3-4 d.
He is somebody you build with.
Again this is just my opinion and am obviously biased as I am a huge fan of risto.
Watching him be on the ice for 27 minutes a night is just gonna ruin him. But the coach doesn't trust anybody else. He musnt be that bad |

I don't think they would have to do it right away though, worst case they franchise tag him (not that I think that would be a good idea) but if he lights it up in Buffalo then maybe he is the guy at least for the next 3 years. - Stripes77
If we were say, the Chiefs(minus Mahomes), some recent success, but can't get over the hump in the playoffs, then sure, go after Foles. But I for one am sick of these half measures. Go, get your guy in the draft and build a team. |

In the era of hot takes, players are either amazing or terrible.
Risto is good. He is not great. He's a pest, he gets 40 points a year (will get more with better wingers) and he's a tough sob.
He is not elite
Not great
Definitely not terrible

Just this year he is scoring at a .6 point per game. With these nubs for linemates. Imagine him on a great team. I truly believe we will regret trading him for pretty much anyone except a true all star And even then. |

How many games have you gone to this year?
1?
I get it, it's your opinion .
