Winning and inspiring others to win is important.
It also is one way of judging players.
Kelly or Marino will never be considered the greatest , because they didn't win the Superbowl.
Foles experience last season is immeasurable - Boss34
How do u know Foles was the “inspiration” for Philly to win?
Could’ve been the coach...
other players...
the whole team in general playing the “underdog” role...
etc
The guy is a backup QB
An extremely small sample size where he played well doesn’t change that
Just makes for a great story |

you weren't around with those two in their primes, were you? - Michael Pachla
Marino is still considered by many to be the best “passer” of all time
With the rules now,
He’d probably be throwing for over 6,000yds a season
But he never won a SuperBowl,
so Boss thinks Foles is better
Idk what to even say to that? |

I'm older than Gerbe and I've never seen any of the Superbowl losses or the Houston game. I've actually never watched any Kelly game in its entirety.
Edit: I know the Oilers was Reich - jcragcrumple
Sad is all I can say...not at you, but for you.
It was the greatest period of Bills football...you just knew they were going to win.
Some great players, some real asshats, some of which got religion later in life.
I can’t imagine being a Bills fan who is say 30 or younger (or being say at least 10 when they were playing well in the early/mid 90’s) ... all “you” have ever known is varying degrees of failure, not the glory days. |

It’s apples and oranges.
Best passer/QB vs Miracle.
Similar in nature to Trent Dilfer...although Foles did actually perform very well Under pressure. He played very well, not just a passenger.
That said, The real genius was the coach who was able to adjust quickly and learn what Foles does well and doesn’t, then give him a gameplan that maximizes his strengths.
Now to compare Foles career with some of the most highly respected QBs to have played is fools gold. |

It would be one thing if he was a free agent
Trading a 1st for a guy who will most likely only play 1 season for us...
that’s just dumb
Now if the Bills think Foles is our “Franchise QB” and wanna sign him to an extension...
then trading a 1st (or whatever) for him makes more sense
I just hope to god they don’t think that |

I guess the other side of the coin is that I don't know the disappointment of how close we were to having a championship. All I know is the Bengals touchdown this year was the highlight of my Bills life |

Requirements for the Sabres to “be good” next year, IMHO...
-Eichel, plays at a minimum of 1.1 PPG pace, with 35 G’s
-someone, anyone besides Mittelstadt becomes a reliable finisher on Jack’s wing, banging in 30 G’s
-Mittelstadt produces 20/20+
-ROR, Okposo, Reinhart continue at their most recent level of production.
-at least one of Pu, Asplund, O’Regan, Nylander finds a productive spot in the top 6
-Baptiste and Bailey find productive rolls, whatever that is
-Risto can find consistency, play 22 minutes per night
-Guhle plays/produces in similar fashion to Charlie McAvoy
-Antipin and Nelson both become productive regulars, earning a 4 and 5 would be terrific
-Ullmark delivers a .920 / 2.50 season
-two (2) of the following are no longer on this team
- Bogo, Pommer, Moulson, Blow-U
- while the other two can at least be respectable |

I know what you are saying but:
How many wins better are the bills with foles over tyrod?
A couple in my opinion - Boss34
I'd rather move up and draft a guy than spend that pick on Foles. |

Much as it pains me to say it, before this group, Manning/Brady, Marino was the best. Montana was a winner sure, but Marino had him easily on raw skill. |

Had we tanked more we would have a better player then Nylander.
1 less point and we have Keller.
A few less points and we have tkachuck.
Or even Matthews or laine - Boss34
I know .... it's been maddening actually. My motto: If you're not in the playoffs ... finish last. |

You have to give foles credit for being the mvp quarterback of the Superbowl. It's a fact.
Your opinion of weather the eagles would have made the playoffs with foles at qb isn't a fact - Boss34
If any of you recall that game where Foles was inserted into the lineup during his first stint with the Eagles a few years ago and I believe his first game was against the Raiders in Oakland. I was at that game and that ranked right up there with the best QB performance I've ever seen. I think he threw for 6 TD's that day.
PS: I've been going to Raider games since 1970 so I've seen a few good ones ..... |

- Boss34
Not sure. Foles completion percentage ranges from 56-61% depending on the season...averages close to 60%
TT’s average is around 62%
The 10th best QB was around 64%
Bills players say the LOVE TT, he is an inspiration to his professionalism, preparedness, leadership, etc.
My guess to your answer is it depends more on the OC/QB coach ... can they tailor a gameplan to fit the strengths of their QB. If not, I think TT out-performs him on a slight basis or is roughly the same ... meaning Not Good Enough. |

I'm old, my prime college years with those guys.
But, championships do mean something.
I was just playing devils advocate.
Foles is 1 of 35 human beings to win the Superbowl
That's clutch

I will go on record ...
- I was rooting hard for Foles, great story.
- I was shocked he didn’t cave
- I was happy when he won...largely because I thought some dumb GM who has a pick ahead of the Bills would make a move to acquire him.
I don’t want anything to do with him, not even for a 2nd....foolish to give-up any draft picks when there are plenty of options to bring in a bridge QB.

You could be right.
I’m sold on the kid, he looked fabulous in the WJr’s...ready for prime time.
If Reinhardt can produce at that rate in his rookie season, then I would expect Mittelstadt to rival that.
Maybe i5 is too optimistic, but what the hell |
