technically that's true.

Why would he play in the AHL after dominating the SEL? Because the ice is slightly smaller? I’m generally curious, what’s the logic?

Id say it’s the next step physically and yes the ice size too. NHL is more physical/fast than the AHL, better dev league for that IMO

I take great joy in the fact that the coilers are currently looking for an Everle and a Hall type of players this offseason

Some players (like Boeser and Horvat) are beyond what the AHL can give them. Pettersson for all intensive purposes looks to be one of those players. There's always a chance he'll go to Utica at some point, But Pettersson looks to be on this roster next season. Probably along with Gaudette. This is a bad roster...and there should be room for both of them.
