He’ll come back stronger and better looking

Impossible, you can't improve those chiseled jaw lines, you should hang your head in shame at that blasphemy.

More time for him to workout when he’s cleared to exercise again. He’ll be hitting the gym while Bo and Jake are getting in their pre game chicken parm and napping

I expect Olli, Gaudette & Pettersson to all get a look at the start of next year...team needs to sell "hope", and that's them (plus Lind, Gadj, Dahlen as the next level after). Not sure about Demko.

What concerns me about trading Taney is having someone who pairs well with Olli. Guddy seems to need Edler (who is playing well); which of the other RHD would you trust to play with the kid? I think I'd prefer Tryamkin, if he could be "bought back"!

- SlightlyOffside

Good point.
I'm assuming he won't be ready next year and maybe the Tanev trade will bring back a younger version of him.

Possible. Otherwise you're looking at Biega or Stetcher. Not sure I fancy that!

Excluding the top two picks who are playing in the NHL... You're correct. I think he'll end up being the best player from that draft class. I'm so glad I wasnt on the draft glass train.
- Nuckerwhatever

I think he is more NHl ready than they are, just was dedicated to SHL this year.

I was on the Glass train, I think most of us were due to his style of play. But EP truly is what we need as he looks like a PPG type player who will put up 20-30g a year and can play the set-up or the trigger on the PP.

I didn't see this sorts of dominance out of him.

Id like to see him develop in the ahl unless he forced his way into the Nucks. He can play in the bigs in 2019 with Hughes.

Most people were at the start of the year. Interest died down on him by November for most of us.

I was very nervous we would draft him and then equally nervous we would trade for him at the deadline

EP really impressed me this year (understatement: SHL U20 points record), and he seems ready to get a try at the NHL level. I do think he might need some time to adjust to a faster rougher game on the smaller ice. He was ill during the WHC so hard to gauge from that,

If he signs with us hw will be better than 90% of our team. He will push for Calder in his rookie season. Whether it is next season or another it does not matter.

I would do Lilj + 1st for Tanev if TML offered it. But I also want to keep him as I have a feeling OJ will make the team and Tanev will be a good partner for him.

The pace i doubt it, SHL is quite fast. Hard to say with the rougher game. lots of Euro's moved over and adjusted quickly, and none of them are as skilled as EP is. I think Ep may be better than Ehlers and Nylander and the lot of them.

Yeah, I remember those pre-draft debates

I was not high on EP and loved Glass. I think we both preferred Glass back then.

I got into it with N4U over Heponiemi, really wanted him in the 2nd round.

I know Vantel liked Hague

Auction Tanev to the highest bidder at the draft.

If that teams NOT TOR that's an extra bonus

NYI or TOR is my guess for teams with the most interest.

SHL is pretty fast (I've watched maybe a dozen Vaxjo games this year), but there is just a lot more space & time on the big ice.

I think he is going to be exceptional, I just think there will be a period of adjustment. Is it 10-12 games like Boeser, or a couple of years...not sure.

I loved Vegas’ first round haul. It’s annoying that they’re a 1st place team with a good prospect pool

I think he’ll be fine, if there is an adjustment period, it’ll only be for 10-15 games. As long as can take a hit and isn’t playing scared, he should produce.

If he does struggle during camp/pre-season then starting him off in the AHL isn’t the end of the world.
