Attendance after 30 games.

http://mynhltraderumors.c...mes-2017-2018/2018/03/07/

Thought Bettman was concerned about Flames attendance, the reason they badly need a new rink.
Same teams year after year struggling to get 80%full.
Wonder how finances would improve in the league if these teams were in healthier markets?

- Reubenkincade

It is ridiculous that one of the highest attended teams is being thought to get moved.

The Flames want public money but won't open their books. Apparently they just so happened to start losing money like crazy on their arena in the least 4 years when Edmonton got the thumbs up on their rip off of a rink.

Let's cook the books, so the financially strong teams can continue to send equalization payments to these continually struggling teams.

There are so many factors in the way of it I'm surprised anyone gives it credence

-Would require a BOG vote of like 20 or 24 (?) yes votes
-No city they move to would they be the owners of the arena so their revenue streams would actually be more limited
-"Hey Sportsnet. Thanks for the 5 billion dollar TV contract. Enjoy having one less market for games so you lose even more money on this deal"
-They're a top 10 revenue market and essentially are a monopoly on the sports entertainment dollar in Calgary as they own like all the sports there.
-Relocation fee paid to the rest of the owners + paying out of pocket to buy out a local tv region for themselves from another franchise + miniscule regional TV contract + extremely limited merchandise and branded apparel opportunities
-Brand equity suicide

And plus probably a ton more but I haven't cared enough to bother with delving past the surface

Just wait 5-10 years and Bettman will be in Vancouver saying the city needs to pay for a new rink.

Kind of hard when you have 4 condo towers attached to the thing. What are you going to do with the arena if canucks don't play there?

Gut feeling; these 2 teams will make a significant trade before or at the draft.๐Ÿ˜

It's always fun when the 2 worst teams in the league make a trade.

I guess we don't need Domi now (thanks Lipstick).

Connaugton and a 2nd for Hutton.

So Iโ€™m listening to 1040 with Gilman and they say Montreal is interested in Loui Eriksson(Canucks would retain salary)

What kind of return would we get if we ate 50% salary?

Even if itโ€™s 50% retention Iโ€™m doing that. Gilman said he thinks MTL would actually give up a pick or prospect if the Canucks retained 50%

Benning better convince Eriksson to waive for MTL if this is true.
