They could be over utilizing him making our attack more one dimensional.
Just doesn't make sense to me that he leaves, Kane leaves and McCabe/Bogo get hurt, now our D are scoring, now our bottom6 are driving play...we're even winning games in SHOOTOUTS FFS! Something stinks, not sure who it is and it's not my boy Samson.
Good point though, he was literally touching or shooting almost every puck we put in the net before his departure. - RhinoFan

Do you think it’s good teams drops their guard against the Sabres because it’s an easy win, hence we look good.
Desperate teams usually smoke us
Bad teams are in lose mode.
It can surely happen. Still, the Kings and Islanders are chasing, beat them. Leafs and Boston are battling for home ice, beat both. We also beat the top team twice, Tampa doesn't lose much.
Best answer, perhaps??? I did think the Leafs came out slow, could have been the bag skate, but also could have been them counting on an easy win. We weren't the better team in all these games either, just have seemed to find a way to win when in the past we haven't.
I'm hoping this is us turning the corner. |

Stop winning meaningless games - sbroads24
Jeff Marek says we have tkachuk #2 on our list, it's already cooked
In all seriousness though id rather they fall back a bit and get boqvist/hughes. I'm all about BPA so I dont wanna see them in a position to have to pass on it again because the obvious pick is a winger. |

He was the consolation prize but at the lottery you could tell GMTM REALLY wanted McDavid.
If Eichel was the only prize I'm not so sure the Sabres would have tanked so openly. They would have rebuilt but I'm not so sure they would have made the deal with Winnipeg, dealt the goalies and just openly tanked to be in last place. Getting a chance at Mcdavid was seen as getting a shot at generational special talent. Getting a shot at Eichel would have just been seen as a typical draft year, not a special one. - GilPerreault11
the NBA is proof that teams will still tank for even just a chance
although #4 in the NBA is probably worth more than #4 in the NHL |

I wouldn’t hate it but it’s the wrong pick when you have 2 wingers that will score more |

disagree, the top 5 of the nba draft is way more un reliable than the nhl. |

this is probably right but the potential impact is far higher because of how much 1 player makes a difference in the nba |

Hmmm, small, skilled D - Hughes. He didn't look all that great at WJC. I'm not a fan of falling back to draft for need. I like taking best talent available. It usually plays out better. When you have better talent you have better capital to deal for positions of need if need be and you get better talent back as well. |

Everybody beats the islanders, King’s game was a good win.
I think you’re right, the little talent that is on this roster is playing well and adjusted quickly after losing Eichel.
I hope Housley will register what these guys are doing off ice and in the locker room while playing like this. Boost consistency
The Rochester players look great and it does seem like the organization is on the right path.
I forgot Bogo was still a Sabre |

He’s a bust but he’s worth more than Bean or Fluery. I want an established young NHL stud d man for him......
