I think it's time from a business perspective, fans don't come to see them anymore. Inject some youth like EP and gaudette and the building will be full and energized.
- Bettmanhatesus

I think EP will choose to stay in Sweden another year. I think the big prospect upgrade next year will be Gaudette OJ and Demko. Getting Cam Ward for two years might be a good teacher . Trade or demote Markstrom and Neilsson.

Gaudette I expect 8-12 Golas in his first year not 25-30

If VAN can recoup some value, like an equivalent to a late first or early 2nd round pick, I would move Virtanen. The kid has NHL size, NHL speed, NHL shot and nothing between the ears.

I used to fear the idea he could tie it all together if they traded him, but IMO he's much closer to being a Zack Kassian than he is to being a Kreider, Neely, Bertuzzi, etc.

i'd hold onto him.
he's been playing great the past handful of games, earning more ice time, playing with speed which is key in the new NHL.
No way i'd move him for a 2nd.

I am sure they will wait it out, but there has been nothing in his 3 years of professional hockey that suggests to me he has an ounce of hockey IQ. There was something the paper not too long ago where Jake admitted Green has told him things to do over 30 times, I am impressed the team still has patience for him as I do not

I would focus more on D.
- VanHockeyGuy

Id rather have the youngest, largest goalie in the draft then another 6-7 round D bust. 😛

It just reminds me of when Kassian put together a few good games (or when Jake did it back in Oct/November) and we all got excited that he was turning the corner and then doesnt. I've been hurt too many times

There isn't a lot of good D next year unless you really want to overpay. If you do trade Tanev and/or Hutton your best buy would be Bieksa Sbisa or Hamhuis at a cheap short term contract , but we all know how we feel about regurgitating old players .

Next year will probably be

Edler Guddy
MDZ Pouliot
OJ Stecher .

It's not pretty until Canucks make a big move or keep Tanev

Also Krieder has always had that fiery attitude, which I think helped him. He has that other gear that I dont see in Virtanen

- WhiteLie

Kreider has been playing with much better players. Kreider does he best work while in the playoffs. Speed and drive the net. Van just needs some players to collect the garbage when it happens.

I know, but hes also been playing hockey for like 15+ years and still makes minor hockey level mistakes:

These types of things just happen far too often and have convinced me that in order to succeed he will need to be in a perfect situation. IMO Archibald is already a much better NHLer in 30 career games than Virtanen in his 130

Focusing on one thing will just lead to holes further down the road. If Dipetrio doesnt workout and Van doesnt draft one soon. Could be 6-8 years between goalies. Van needs quality D not quantity.

Agreed but Krieder is much more aggressive than Virtanen. His motor is always running, whereas Jake is considerably softer IMO. He could get there, but my doubts are growing

Tell that to Bieksa3. He quit hockey buzz because his boy Dal Colle was a massive bust at 4
- CanuckDon

Didn't Kaptaan quit too as Dale Wiese can't crack a third line on any team...

I could utube mistakes on every player in this league just as much as utube great plays. When drafted he was a project everyone knew that and he has a rare skillset that needs to mature along with his mental side, he still thinks like a kid but I see more good signs then bad lately.

Hearing that Carolina had preliminary phone call with Mike Futa (LA) Friday; also believe Hurricanes have reached out to former Canucks AGM Laurence Gilman. Belief is Carolina has reached out to Nashville regarding Paul Fenton and Tampa regarding Julien Brisebois, obvious names..
