Looks like around 12-14 contracts will be open. 3-5 on the roster pending the Sedins. 8-9 non-roster plus the 3 available. I can see Cassels back. Anyone see it different or maybe coming back? |

Same.
I also see Chaput coming back, he is the best centre they have in the Ahl |

For all you Sutter haters
https://www.nucksmiscondu...-importance-of-zone-exits - VANTEL
thanks for the link, good read
I still think Sutter is overpaid and still don't like the trade they made to get him, but I appreciate his ability to handle tough minutes. Gaunce actually got harder minutes at 5v5 though.
24% of 5v5 goals scored after a failed zone exit attempt. Another reason why you need 6 dman who can move the puck out of the zone with a good first pass. |

5'10" 190 lbs Motte
6'1" 183 lbs Gaudette
Previous season
Motte 31 pts in 35 games
Gaudette 52 in 37 games
Linemates
Kyle Connor 71 points TJ Compher 63 points Werenski 36 points
Dylan Sikura 52 points Stevens 41 points Davies 33 points
Twitter just doesn't have enough characters. - manvanfan
Was gonna mention the linemates too lol.
If Gaudette pans out as a high end 3LC, that' a win. Anything more would just be gravy. |

I think they will bring back Cassels he is a RFA and had a decent year. They will probably sign Dylan Blujus who has been playing well for them and they just signed Sautner. Add Dahlen Lind Gadjovich . They will definitely bring back Chaput and probably Bachman even though Markstrom and Neilsson should be here. I think they try to re=sign Weirchoch again to one way contract .
I have my doubts the bring back Labate. Megna will get a contract . Not sure about Cedarholm or Stewart . Goldobin will be traded or back on Comets and Boucher

I read earlier this year Laine was having a mediocre season, he just scored his 40th, the next Ovechkin type perennial 40 goal scorer? I guess the Jets got it right when there was a debate about who's better during their draft year, Puljujarvi or Laine. - LeftCoaster
Laine struggled early on in the season but has been machine the past 2-3 months. Hoping WPG makes a run. |

I would be happy if we could have 2 of those guys. |

I think Goldobin is most likely done here. He requires waivers next year as well and would likely get claimed if waived. I bet he gets traded for a late round pick or traded for another player in a similar position with another team. |

I think that's being a little harsh lol. We have a few who can do that according to zone exit stats.
What we definitely lack is dmen who can make plays that lead directly to offense. Most of our dmen can't create off of the rush or make creative plays in the offensive zone, and none of them can really shoot. |

I agreed that Cassels will be back.
Dont want Megna, would resign Weircioch,Cederhouse is garbage, as is Stewart.
Labate maybe on ahl contract.
My darkhorse is McEneny making Canucks next season, after recovering from injury.
McEneny plays both sides and is probably an upgrade on most of our defense.

Biech did a piece on him and suggested the same thing. His point totals are a little inflated from his powerplay production, but likely a good 3C with some potential to be a 2C.
That being said, Lefty was right in that this is the Canucks and he might end up being higher in the lineup due to poor depth |
