Well, technically they are in fact an Expansion Team since the NHL expanded from 30 teams to 31 with the addition of LVGK to the NHL.

Now, because you associate Expansion Team to a poor roster

Imo it's either

a) the sabres want him in rochester

b) He and/or his agent don't want him anywhere near this landfill of a hockey team.

It's also possible that he doesnt feel ready to take that step from college to NHL. Maybe he wants the summer to add size, improve conditioning.

Who knows if/when/what level Okposo will ever play in the NHL again. Going into next year, Reinhart is the only proven commodity for a top-6 wing. It is dire at that position
