lol
While I’ll grant Having Connor is always gonna breed some semblance of hope (Eichel should do the same to abit of a degree)
I’m not sure what’s worse.
Still building towards that goal and failing thus far
Or
Knowing you had that goal in reach and your new gm gutting the organization and setting you back a couple years
It’s an awful situation all around for everyone.
Admittedly, I hope the sabres turn it around as being from western Canada, I loathe every canadian team in your division - Ihateallofu
Funny.
I like Calgary as they have selected several players I was hoping the Sabres would get to pick...so I keep an eye on them.
I am in a quandary about The Oil, just l8ke the Sabres ... WTF happened?
Was expecting both teams to be challenging by now ... seeing them fold back to a major rebuild is just frustrating.
I wish 8 could get on the We are going to be good train, I really do...but I still see a 2 year process before they start the upward trend line.
We shall see
I never asked anyone to empathize with me or the oilers. I never would.
I’m over this discussion.
Also, give us some credit!
it’s 4 first overalls. Not 6😉.

Then don't expect me to greet you with hospitality when you come here with smugness and entitlement when you've been gifted with 4 first overall picks.
It is just hockey. And your team has been the beneficiary of not only incredible luck, but you're the beneficiary of your own failure. If only the Sabres were given the opportunity to fail as spectacularly as the Oilers
Funny.

Cgy is very solid. Prob one quality 3c or 2w from being REALLY good.
As far as the oilers, I think a lot of the pundits jumped on the bandwagon after the mini run without really doing their homework
Talbot was unconscious last year and made an average at best defence look good.
Chia basically actively downgraded a team that hadnt won or even really learned how to win anything. He depended on positive linear development from a bunch of unproven guys (slepyshev/puju/caggiula/strome) and didn’t take into account any potential down years (like Klefbom has had)
So many mistakes. And he fuked our cap.
I’d say unless he makes some magical trades this summer, he set us back two years waiting on puljujarvi and Yamamoto to hopefully turn into bonafide scorers
It’s a mess.
While the sabres are a mess too, they’re arent regressing like the oilers.
So Ristolainen for your first ? What about Jesse - gerbe75pts
Can’t deal Jesse
I’d make that deal if you take salary back.
1st + sekera
Risto and a 3rd
Side note- since the deal cant be made till after the lottery results. I’ll deal any pick not 1. (Or to throw u a bone - I’ll shake hands on it now and give U our shot at 1st overall. But u still have to make the deal if we fall back to 8th or whatever)
If you’re interested, I’ll call chia and get the papers drawn up 👍

So what’s up with Puju? I thought he was going to be the better one, and he still may be...but a big, big hill to climb.
LuCheech screwed you guys, I never understood that deal, but...
I like what Nelson is developing into. He's a UFA though. Pretty sure he's signing back here from what it sounds like but that's still a chance I'm not ready to take. Risto is a minute cruncher, it's that simple. Sure he makes some mistakes, but let's not pencil Nelson in as able to do what Risto does.

I just reread this brilliant proposal. They need to hire me

I don’t understand the disdain for teams who are so bad none of their games ever matter.
It’s like getting jealous over the Cleveland Browns or Philadelphia 76’ers. Or Buffalo Sabres.
You know what price they had to pay for getting all those 1st overalls? Never winning games.

Yeah dude. He’s a question mark.
Looked like a slam dunk after the world juniors, but I dunno. He’s got all the tools, and looks great some nights, but totally ineffective others. But he’s only still 19, so I’m not panicking.
If I had to guess, I don’t think he’ll fulfill that beast perennial 30 goals off the wing potential. But a good two way 20g 2nd line winger
And yep , that looch deal looks bad. Ok last year, but he’s hit a wall and is a mess right now. 5 more years on that deal too. Gross
