As far as questions I've received tonight asking if EJ Gaines re-signed with the Bills simply because he changed his profile pic to him in a Bills uni, the indication I've gotten is no, that's not the case.

We have cap room now, no reason to blow that on Gaines just yet. Wait until Wednesday at least to see what’s up with another (backup?) QB, WR and DE.
Not sure if this has been brought up yet didn't Fully back-read but I think Evan Bouchard (D for London Knights) is a real dark horse to jump most of the second group of D after Dahlin. I think teams looking for D close to NHL ready will hold off on getting Adam Boqvist because he is still 17, needs to fill out, and needs more time. Bouchard has been lighting it up in the OHL. Look at his stats and how he has improved from last year:
2016-2017 London Knights OHL 68 11 33 44 24
2017-2018 London Knights OHL 64 23 61 84 48
Doesn't seem to be bad defensively and it doesn't hurt that he is a Right Shot D-Man.

I read about him climbing the draft boards. He certainly makes a compelling case for himself.
I was hoping for a second 1st rounder this year so I could really dig into the projected second tiers of top prospects. I suppose i should study up anyway. In case Professor Botts gives a pop quiz on draft day.
I also wanted to bring something else up. I've seen a lot of people talking about Babtiste and Bailey and what to do with them next year. As well as, what our line-up will/could look like. I think a bunch of people are forgetting that they will lose their waivers exemption next year leaving the Sabres with 3 choices.
1. Play them in Buffalo
2. Trade Them
3. Sit them in Buffalo
There is no way they don't get picked up if we try to send them to Rochester. They may not be good enough in some's opinion to play in Buffalo but they definitely are not bad enough to pass through waivers, someone will grab them and chances are we will be talking about how stupid it was for Buffalo to let them go for nothing. I personally think they should be playing up here next year. Babtiste has been showing he can hold his own and Bailey is a much better option then some of the guys we got up here now. I also believe C.J. Smith falls into the same category, might as well see what he has got now.

Between Gaines and Davis, you should be able to get a full year of a starter opposite Tre White. Just play the other every other game.

With how good this draft class is the lower we finish the better chance we can grab a guy who Should have gone in the first at the beginning of the second. With this class an early second is very similar to a late first. We may be able to get someone who can contribute in the NHL and hopefully be a top 6 second pair type of guy depending on who we draft.
We could also trade that second and something else to jump back into the first if a team wants to trade back. That is if we finish Low Enough
