Hakan Andersson, I think it was, was the best scout that side of the ocean for ages. And for years Detroit was one of the teams who would invest heavily into European scouting until everyone started to get wise to it around 2006 or so.

His protege worked for the Sens for a while. I remember all this hype about how the Sens gotthe next greatest Euro scout and were Wings 2.0 but their Euro drafting turned out to be nothing special at all.
