I disagree, Sedins are ranked 3/4 in 5v5 scoring and 8/10 ice time per game.
PP points have helped them look respectable this year but that is no different than you any other point producer in the league. They definitely are getting favourable zone starts but lots of players have on this team previously and not put up the points.
Like it or not they are still tip players for this team. - belcherbd
Great post, but it doesn’t fit in with the narrative here about 38 year olds, 8-10 million per season, everyone wants to re-sign them, who are they mentoring, too slow, only the youngsters should play...yada yada.
Why put up 3-4 on 5v5, or anything about ice time, get in step belcher, jeez. |

Most of the major rankings have Bouchard much lower...closer 10 OA...
Noah Dobson & Boqvist are consistently higher ranked on D
HockeyProspect has him in the mid teens..

I would trade down from 3 or 4 OA to get another asset. I just don't much like Svech(russian factor) or Tkachuk(used to be high on him, but interest is lowering). |

I think Bouchard is 2nd best Dman but I have a hard time taking D in top 5.
I'm surprised more people aren't on the Wahlstrom train. |

That’s your opinion, but I believe that if you gave other players the same opportunity as Henrik and Daniel they would have similar results. Boeser is a good example of best case scenario. My point is that even a “decent” case scenario sees someone doing what the twins have done, and someone else doing what the player who replaced the Sedins, and so on and so on. - 1970vintage
I see the stats as a fact and not his opinion, there is another PP line how have they stacked up?
There are 20 other guys on the team and only one can match their point totals, the Sedins play 12 mins a game, if there was anyone not named Horvat or Boeser maybe they should step up and show themselves in the remaining 48 minutes. |

I don’t think the arguments made for letting them go were that ridiculous. |

I legitimately thought it was a good discussion. Both sides made their points without getting emotional about it. |

If that’s all you read I can’t help you understand. You believe that the twins contribution can’t be replaced, I believe it can. - 1970vintage
Again not sure how you arrive at can’t be replaced, everyone can be replaced.
I think it is more a matter of looking at things objectively and stating what the Sedins offer and what others on this team offers.
Yes they are getting older, yes they suck defensively, but they also contribute in other ways. Boeser sucks defensively, but because he’s young and a Prince Charming clone he gets a pass.

They’re not ridiculous, and I’m not emotional, I haven’t been around for quite awhile but still see the whole Sedin issue being discussed and wanted to add a little objectivity for the other side, you know the side that isn’t posting constantly that the twins are the reason the Canucks suck, if we just got rid of them we are a good 30th placed team. |

Bouchard would be a steal at 15 and veleno at 23. I like the idea of Merkley dropping to 2nd round, maybe we can get him there. |

Your right, I am just weary of the Russian factor. With Truly Elite Russians it is rarely an issue, but they do still sometimes (frank) their teams over. Especially if you front load their contract. |

It is also the lead story on the 1040 and 650 . Twitter also. It won't go anytime soon until they sign or retire |
