lol I fear he will take the 5'9 165lb Dman from Michigan who is rated 5-10 in most drafts - EnzoD
Are you saying that because he's a Smurf, or because he's from Michigan? đ |

The win by the Oilers put the icing on the cake for the afternoon. One point is the smallest lead we have had on them. Hopefully they use their game in hand to pass us. - 67hawks
Beating oilers to the bottom will not help - they will still get Dahlin. Its the other teams like Ottawa and Montreal Hawks need to beat.
This year tank is probably going to be just as pathetic as Stan selling moves at this year TDL (when he had nobody to sell due to NMC and overpriced players nobody wanted).
Hope next year tank all the way for Hughes. We need several years of high draft picks to fix that mess of the team quickly sinking to the bottom with aging and disinterested core. |

I'd be ok with Hughes of the Hawks are picking 9th or 10th, but if they are any higher than that, I'm with Enzo |

Listed at 6'2" 195lbs as an 18 yr old... - EnzoD
I'm not sure about colleges, but I know for a fact never to believe the listed height and weight in this town. Never seen the kid play, but hopefully he's a bit smarter than his brother as well as a better player. |

Of course Stan is going to draft Hughes, he loves his smurfs. Just look at the organization's (Rockford's) most recent signing - http://www.icehogs.com/news/?article_id=6104. |

i'd go this except for Kaner and Crow if he's healthy. Have a hunch both Stan and Q stay with few if any other big changes. With the potential lockout situation the season after next, i think the Hawks ride it out 'til then. |

I googled information on him and I am not disappointed that we are taking a look at him. He is not Russian as the name may suggest and he does seem to have speed and offensive skills. In his draft year he was listed at just over #100 and it was suggested he would have been much higher if not for lack of size. |

I'd like to hope Stan gets fired. But i don't think Rocky and McDonut would allow Stan to over pay/sign Gustafson and Rutta if that was the plan. |

Concentrated, x-platform push over past few weeks touting Kane as a/the primary leader on the team and highlighting his best moments. Maybe theyâre just tired of writing âHawks lose againâ stories, but my cynical self says theyâre expecting to trade or switch up at least one of the current Captains. |

Kane and Crawford would bring back the biggest return, they should be the first to be traded. |

You may get good quantity back for Kane, but you wonât get a game-changing difference-maker for him - actual or potential.
And he is your only ice-leading difference maker. And he certainly seems able to be so for several more years. They donât grow on trees.
Crawford - yeah - more easily replaceable than Kane - but in addition to getting high quality young forward/defensive help back for him, better get your future #1 goaltender, too. |

Anyone attend the Hogs-Wolves game this weekend? Read that it was a feisty game. Chicago native Stefan Matteau plasters Clendening into the boards before Knott swoops in to fight Matteau.
The Hogs forwards are pretty much a bunch of bottom 6 forwards. Not sure how many if an will make a long-term contribution to the big club but playing a physical style, winning board battles, and defending solidly may help some rise to the top to get notice and earn extended call up time down the line. |

Kane led the league in scoring when he played with Panarin. He also finished 3rd in scoring when Panarin was on his line. Today Kane without Panarin is tied for 23rd and is a minus player. It was such a bad idea to break up the highest scoring line in the league for nothing. Team went from first to last. Second worst trade in team history. When Bowman is finally gone or supplies another highest scoring line to the team I'll shut up about this total disaster of a trade but not until then. |

I wouldn't be so sure on getting such a great return for a goalie pushing 35 coming off a season ending concussion/vertigo injury. Why would any team send high quality assets back for such an injury risk aging player??? I know 95% of your posts are BS, but you are correct that Kane is the best trade chip they have. However, he is not replaceable. He's the type of player that dominates the ice with the puck on his stick, creating goals for himself and his teammates. There are maybe 5 players like that who have equal ability to beat you passing or shooting the puck, all while controlling possession for extended periods of time. |

There are some really good players in this years draft but really the big winner is whoever get Dahlin
He is 3x's better than anyone else
HE is that GOOD - Goalie-33
Agree 100%. Dahlin is #1 on every mock draft I have perused. Move heaven and earth to get him. |

If he hits his potential, Dahlin has been compared to Karlsson, Hedman, and Lidstrom. Boqvist has been compared to Karlsson, too.
Svechnikov has been compared to Laine. Tkachuk has been compared to his brother, of course.
Zadina has been compared on a wide spectrum from Tatar to Kane (Patrick, not Evander).
Not sure about Wahlstrom but projected to be a power forward.
Lofty comparables for the projected top picks. |
