Im starting to think moving up further in the draft to 2 might set this franchise back.

I don’t feel any QB is worth what we will need to trade

There isn't. All of the QBs in this class had very underwhelming seasons aside from Mayfield. And Mayfield isn't a guy you move up to 2 to take. He will be there at 8.

I have only been saying this for the last month and a half!

Take Mayfield Rudolph or Jackson (not my favorite) and keep building

There isn't 1 QB that is THE GUY

I wouldn’t move up at all for Mayfield.

I think Darnold is a legit franchise QB, and he’s going #1.

I think people sell Lamar Jackson short, I think he’s good.

I have 0 clue how good Rosen will be

Eichel loses the O zone draw, yet we still get a shot attempt and keep it in their zone....

The Jets swapped 1sts with the Colts and gave up 3 2nd round picks to move up 3 spots

That's insane

I still think the likely trading spot is the Giants at 2

They are still committed to Eli and they can get 2 1st rounders this year and it will probably cost a 1st next year now.

Or just see how the draft unfolds

They (Bills) might just be able to get a Qb they will call their guy at 12

Idk
- Stripes77

Kept warning you all that it was gonna take more than u guys thought to move up!

Plus,
Do the Giants really not wanna draft a QB?
Could be a smokescreen
And if they do wanna trade down...
are they willing to go to 12th?
Or might they just trade to say 5th with Denver & pick up three 2nds?

I don’t wanna be Debbie downer,
but we might not be able to trade up for our guy

Jackson has accuracy problems. Darnold reminds me of Leinart.

I was anti trading up from the start, the move to 12 opened me up to it more but I hate to give up all those picks for a guy that isn't the clear cut #1 guy

I don’t want anything to do with Jackson
Has big time accuracy & decision making issues
And idk if his athleticism will be able to cover that up in the NFL like it did in college

He could end up being Randall Cunningham,
but also has HIGH bust potential imo

And hell no to Josh Allen
Please no

If we can’t get one of the top3,
then i want Rudolph

And I’m not even sold on Darnold
His mechanics are weird & his release might take too long in the NFL
He’s gotta fix that (possible though)

https://www.google.com/am...ew-importance-nhl-faceoff

But that's a broad query whose answer can't be painted with a single stroke. There are lots of different scopes one can view face-offs under, but all can also logically be brought into focus. How do face-offs impact long-term performance? How do face-offs impact single-game performance? How do face-offs impact individual performance?

The answer to the first question seems to be rather unanimous, and for good reason. Nothing has indicated there is any meaningful statistical correlation in large sample sizes between winnings face-offs, and winning hockey games.

Since the start of the 2012 season, there have been 910 single-game instances of a team winning at least 60 percent of face-offs (there have been 10,616 total games, so teams have gone 60 percent on face-offs or better 8.57 percent of the time). Of those 910 instances, the team that won at least 60 percent of face-offs won 476 times, or 52.3 percent.

So winning more faceoffs increases your chances of winning

Jesus.

So if you are 10% above average on faceoffs, which is elite, you get an extra 2.3% chance.

And that’s 60% as a team, not individual

Were at 51.7%! Which is 7th in the league, with the record setting O’Reilly.

The best face off team isn’t even cracking 54%.

Not sure how this is even a debate

because it helps make ROR seem like less of a bad contract than it actually is?

I think he's a pretty good player, and i think if there were stats that better measured individual defensive abilities/contributions he'd probably come out looking good.

I can buy all of that, but it's still 2nd line production, faceoff% and good defense. All good, but nothing you'd need to pay 7.5 mil + whatever back issues and speed issues may arise over the course of the deal.

Tied for 99th in even strength points (forwards)

24th in even strength ice time. The only guy with more ice time and less even points is Nyquist

It’s barely 2nd line production.

Even though u don’t post about Corsi stats anymore bc everyone rips u for it...
i know you’re a big proponent of “possession”

Winning the faceoff gives you possession
Does it not?

Also...
pretty damn hard to score if u don’t have the puck

It’s not rocket science

I think there are number instances where faceoffs are lost and the team gains possession. It's more of a team thing
