in last place with the sabres? - Sabresfan-365
I don’t understand though...
Chicago had more shots on goal
But they lost
So i guess shots don’t matter?
And u never explained your arbitrary 4.5mil ROR worth |
|
|
|
No the goal was Rosen , Mayfield, Sam
We failed right now currently
Those other guys are just JP losman, EJ Manuel's, Jake lockers , Tyrod Taylor's - gerbe75pts
How we fail? I’m sure we tried, we didn’t have the assets. Top 2 teams are taking those guys, jets had better picks to move to 3. |

i asked it as a question, not an arbitrary value. Im saying when that opportunity and need is taken away as a result of having a competent defense, how much of that 7.5 mil is o'reilly actually worth 4.5.. 5? |

I would not have guessed him but it's nice |

I think I've made a mistake with my Winter Classic Eichel jersey purchase. If someone buys a #23 I in XL I will trade straight up. |

Ok...
well in your “ask”
Where are u pulling those numbers from?
O’Reilly is our 2nd best offensive player
He’s not Mike Grier |

A 50-60 point center who plays above average defense on UFA contract like O’reilly is at least making 6. So we overpaid a million. Young enough that he will be this player his whole contract. Not sure what the issue with him is 🙄🙄. We don’t lose because of him. He is one of 3-4 good players on our team. Rest of team prob barely cracks 4th line on other teams. That’s why we lose. We have ONE ok winger (sam) out of 12 spots and ONE good D (risto) out of 6 spots and zero goalies.
O’reilly fault. |

she must be thinking of the paddy wagon - Michael Pachla
That's why it's called the paddy wagon.
So paddy wagon is a racist term - best not to use it anymore.
Kinda like if someone ripped you off - don't use the term gypped - it's a negative connotation to Gypsies - which of course you aren't allowed to say anymore - it's Roma.
Which is why I mostly just drink alone - no fear of offending anyone.
Except my neighbours when I pee in my backyard. |

But that extra 1mil (buff-a-tax) is gonna prevent us from making some crazy move that’ll kill us
Idk what we will do if we can’t bring back Criscuolo & Griffith?!
Tha Cap is going up to at least 80mil
(another thing i was right about...
Boss, i might be up to 2% now)
But we are clearly screwed bc we “overpaid” for O’Reilly |

that implies he's good, just good.
and if he was on a 4 year 5 mil aav this wouldnt be an issue. But he's not and that's why it is.
Im fully aware we have the cap room to still make moves, but a bad value contract is exactly that and they all eventually hurt the team in some way.
Or worse, his salary still "earns" him a role (#2 offensive guy) that he simply doesnt deserve.

He made that money before UFA, why does anyone assume he would sign that?? He’s still semi young, productive and will be his whole contract. He’s overpaid by a million. Instead of the 20 million dead space in bogosian, okposo, moulson, and gorges.
That’s two 10 million dollar guys we could have instead. Imagine two studs and two Rochester guys in our lineup instead of those scrubs. That’s a karlsonn and stamkos.
We would be in playoffs and O’reilly would prob be great there. |

Well we obviously need to put more guys around him
Even if he’s overpaid by 2.5mil (he’s not)...
that still isn’t the issue
Bogosian, Moulson, maybe Okposo, etc...
those contracts could hurt us going forward
O’Reilly produces
It’s Buffalo
We are gonna have to overpay
Heck...
one could make a strong argument that 10mil is too much for Jack
Didn’t Kucherov sign for about half that? |

I thought i saw someone post that ROR was something like 26th in scoring for centers
This was probably a couple weeks ago though
Anyways...
no, he’s not Malkin
But acting like he’s Gaustad is pretty far off too
ROR is a high end 2C |

Eichel’s role and salary match up.
O’Reilly’s does now, but not down the road.
O’Reilly is not good enough offensively to be your second best forward.
They need another high skilled guy who’s capable of 65-70 points. That’s not ROR
If they do get deeper, and O’Reilly’s role decreases, then your paying top 30 $$ for a guy who’s not even on your top line
