I mean...as a Jets fan I'm happy as can be right now...
But why don't the Bills just stay at 15 and pick up Mason Rudolph or Lamar Jackson (if he's still there).
Either one are good projects to develop behind McCarron - feetontheair22
Yea i’m sure you were saying the same thing a week ago for you guys ...
And mason , the wide receiver wil suck |

So the Bills trading to 15 wasn't true I gather
I'm still not giving away the farm to move up |

The Johansson pick earns as much hate as the three misses in the 2nd round.
The guy had terrible stats at both the 1st and junior levels in sweden. He literally played 4 good games at the U-18 tournament, thats it. |

No...we were going to get the leftover QB be it Mayfield, Darnold, Rosen, or Allen. Colts were not taking a QB and the Browns wouldn't take 2 QBs...that means 1 would be left over at pick 6. |

probably a good idea to keep the goalie-prospect pool well stocked |

that changes the fact that Johansson came in and gave up four goals on thirteen shots?
He's had maybe like 8 good starts in his entire career lol |

At what is being suggested, it will cost the entire 2018 and 2019 draft to move up to the 2nd pick, and maybe even a roster player or two.
So we then end up with an unproven rookie QB with no team around him, no one to throw to, no one to protect him. This should work out real well. - sskkoo1
Fake news, because one guy on an anonymous hockey board says his favorite team wouldn't take anything other than your entire draft? Come on... |

probably an even better idea to draft goalies who's body of work indicates effective goaltending instead of "oh big and swedish, must have!" - TM, probably |

Thank you for giving us compassionate and giving us the pooptiest quarterbacks ..
A Jets fan trying to be nice..
Sorry that we’re drafting the franchise QB
but you guys can have the average ones and build a team around them and then maybe someday you will draft a real quarterback |

'impact players'...they've done a lot of trading down over the years and passed on qb's and wr's (wentz and julio jones to name a couple) while collecting picks....as you can see, it really hasn't gotten them very far - Michael Pachla
Now everyone is thinking the NFL draft is like the NHL draft, unless you're picking top 5 you're not getting a good player.
Day one starters are easily found in the 3rd round. 6 guys taken in last year's 3rd round were starters/nickel/first line replacements including Alvin Kamara, Cooper Kupp and Shaquill Griffin. |

agreed it's apples and oranges, but 12 is a long way from 2....and 2 can go a long way to helping any team where as 12 probably won't. - Sabresfan-365

Only 3 players from last year's NHL drafted has played at least 9 games so far this year, Nico, Nolan, and Islanders Sebastian Aho. And only 9 have played a single game.
Really the only similarities between the NHL draft and NFL draft is that they're drafts. The best team ever routinely trades down, and never trades up. And sometimes go totally without a first round pick, that's how much talent is in the NFL draft.
BUT, if you need a QB, you gotta pay the PRICE. Other than that, there is no reason to trade up because there's so much talent. |
