Only 3 players from last year's NHL drafted has played at least 9 games so far this year, Nico, Nolan, and Islanders Sebastian Aho. And only 9 have played a single game.
Really the only similarities between the NHL draft and NFL draft is that they're drafts. The best team ever routinely trades down, and never trades up. And sometimes go totally without a first round pick, that's how much talent is in the NFL draft.
BUT, if you need a QB, you gotta pay the PRICE. Other than that, there is no reason to trade up because there's so much talent. - Wetbandit1
Aho is 22 though, and i believe he was drafted before 2017, and went back into the draft last year. I wouldnt even count him. |

buff19 was the one that said he thinks Mason will have the better career over the other 4 I believe
If that happens obviously take a MLB at 12 and Rudolph at 22 and go with AJ this year and keep your picks |

So you want to draft our franchise quarterback in the big 12 That does not have any success with quarterbacks
I would rather trade all our picks to make sure we have a franchise quarterback and start from there
Once you have a quarterback people will sign with you

Jesus Christ kid
Where did Brees play?
What about Brady?
What about Kelly?
What about Marino?
What about Big Ben?
What about Eli Manning?
What about Peyton Manning?
Just because you think the PAC 12 is the place QBs come from doesn't mean it's true...
Some of the biggest busts have come from the PAC 12

1. for all we know they just signed a franchise qb
2. the cost to get up to a top 4 pick is stupid
3. players are already signing with us, when we had no qb's
4. for all we know they are taking the kid from louisville, or moving up to get the kid from wyoming, or taking zero qb's in the first 3 rounds and sticking with mccarron and nate
I am not the gm, you are not the gm

If they (frank)ing trade up for Josh Allen that Mr. bean is not the right guy
56% passing rating good luck in the NFL

probably an even better idea to draft goalies who's body of work indicates effective goaltending instead of "oh big and swedish, must have!" - TM, probably - Sabresfan-365
point taken...but he's still young at 22 and goalies take a long time to develop |

HAHAHAHAHA
Only 2 of those guys played in the Pac 12, the entire list I posted were all Pac 12 BUSTS
Rogers dropped to 22
Carr was drafted in the 2nd round
Cousins the 3rd round
And only 1 team traded up to the top 3 to draft their QB who wasn't a Pac 12 QB, and to top it off Mariota (who hasn't made a Pro Bowl) came from a spread offense which doesn't usually translate to the NFL...kinda like Rudolph |

I don't know much about Allen so I can't speak about it him, but I can speak about how crazy it is to take a guy off your board because of the conference he plays in...especially since you put Mariota on your list but to top it off Mariota (who hasn't made a Pro Bowl) came from a spread offense which doesn't usually translate to the NFL...kinda like Rudolph
So basically what I am saying is, you're not a NFL GM, you never will be, you have no clue what QB is going to be good so maybe just maybe you shouldn't get so worked up over things you cannot control because no matter how many kale smoothies you drink stress will end up giving you a heart attack and you'll die early in life |

Now everyone is thinking the NFL draft is like the NHL draft, unless you're picking top 5 you're not getting a good player.
Day one starters are easily found in the 3rd round. 6 guys taken in last year's 3rd round were starters/nickel/first line replacements including Alvin Kamara, Cooper Kupp and Shaquill Griffin. - Wetbandit1
impact players...some players they passed on by drafting out of a top-five spot:
2016--carson wentz, zeke Elliott, joey bosa, Jalen ramsey
2014--Sammy Watkins, kalil mack
2011--traded out of #6 where julio jones was selected
about the only time it worked was in 2009 when the jets traded up for sanchez
and those are just the top-5 they traded out of (save for jones at #6)...the list of players they missed out on by falling too far (or making another tradedown) has even more impact players on it

I thought you meant just not drafting in the first round.
Pittsburgh, Chicago San Jose etc rarely draft in the 1st it seems |
