why would we sign them? What promise have they shown.

That is what has kind of always bothered me. I remember when Anton Cedarholm broke a medicine ball during development camp, and the entire canuck fan base thought we had the next Scott Stevens. Gunnarsson does 20 clean bench press reps, Canuck fans think we have a physically superior mutant kid, yet he has 0 points all season. Points ultimately, to me, aren't the be-all-end-all of a prospect, but why waste contract space on fringe ECHL/AHL players.

Both could sign ATO with Utica.

Why are you ranting about Utica signing guys to ATO. That doesn't take a contract space from the Canucks.

***Can also be used to help JV understand the game better

Canada released a report on legal weed today. The authors needed a way to compare the maximum size of a licensed "micro-cultivation" area.

for sure, an example of Benning's learning curve. Thos guys never deserved contracts and he is now being more selective. Not sure why this wasn't a lesson he learned while being an AGM
- CanuckDon

He shouldn't be a GM, he doesnt have the abilities for it. Good at some stuff, terrible at others, poopty at most things.

you said those are two players you wanted specifically from the draft. Whether or not we sign them to an ATO or ELC, to me it doesn't matter. You never answered my question. What promise have they shown to warrant any type of signing? this fanbase has always struggled with letting go of players and I will never understand it.

I think he needs a strong AGM - not Weisbrod.

Francesco would never hire him, he's been too critical of their decisions.

I remember reading a quote from a Brian Burke interview about Wesibrod in Calgary.

“I’m not even sure what he did here”

No

The last thing they need is another guy with zero experience in handling contract negotiations and understanding the CBA.

They needed to either keep Gilman or hire someone with a similar skill set and they failed to do so.

They were calling the NHL at one point and asking the NHL for advice about the CBA, cap hits, LTIR, etc.

The guy is cleary intelligent. He has been conning multiple organizations into hiring him for high profile jobs despite not doing anything.

that 2004 draft year, hell of year lefty.
- Codes1087

LE and Lad have both had above average of not good careers.
Any player who has one or more 20 or 39 goal seasons in the NHL should be considered a decent draft pick, current contract has nothing to do with it.

It's not as if they both suck terribly at hockey. I don't understand what your problem is with signing someone to an AHL contract or even an ECHL contract. It doesn't count against the Canucks contracts. I'm rather confused. Where do you think players come from in the ECHL/ AHL?

Candella and Stukel are the same type of players that make up a better portion of every AHL/ECHL team. Drafted by the Canucks or not.

Like that he has Bouchard climbing to 5 but not sure why he has Brady so high

Along the way, he climbed to No. 20 in our November list, to No. 10 in our January rankings and now sits fifth.

The highest-ranked Canadian on our board, Bouchard is a fantastic passer who projects as true power-play quarterback at the next level.
He has also been counted on to log north of the 30 minutes a night for a Knights team that traded away a number of key veterans during the season.

Sounds like a skillset we could use

Using Button rankings, we may get a shot at Jett Woo and Kevin Bahl.
That would be a big help for our defense prospects.

His rankings are always wild, Bob’s list is usually a better indicator of how the draft will go

This is very very true. This is why Button doesn't have an NHL job somewhere. He's trying to be the next Pronman. Make as many wild picks as possible in hopes that a single one turns out to be right.

Ya i dont give Button much credibility. Bob is still the best for sure.
