Nice to see Toews and Scmaltz not blocking shots on the PK. |

Can Hossa still come back? The only thing official is Marian Hossa will miss 2017-18 season with 'progressive skin disorder. |

I really think the Hawks are looking at 7th overall pick. Really wanted them to get to 5, but not sure it can happen. |

Not easy coming back at 39 after missing a full season - even if his condition clears up. |

An article from the Tribune a while back..."Sometimes taking a break from the equipment and letting the skin heal is best," Derick said. "If you can completely avoid it, it should get better." So a year off from hockey might do the trick? Like, there hasn't been confirmation that Hossa will retire right? |

thats been my expectation for about the last 2-3 weeks: oil and wings are not capable of stringing wins together...kinda like the guys in black white and red |

I wonder if Chris Chelios would be a good candidate if Bowman gets canned? |

I'm willing to bet he wouldn't be choosing Small and soft defenseman like Stan Bowman has. |

It's contagious. - GPHawksfan
I actually believe it is. It is good to see plays like that from a teammate and often leads to others making similar plays |

I agree. I really think they need a former player. LA with Blake and more so Boston with Sweeney have done a good job since they've taken over. |

I would like accept this Hossa thesis as a major reason for this total team demise this year...but no...so many other factors in play... - bogiedoc
There are so many factors.....unfortunately. But you always knew that when Hossa was on the ice you would get 100 percent effort and totally professional play. For all the carping from other teams’ fans when the Hawks got the benefit of Hossa being on LTIR, where did they ever think the Hawks were going to sign another player of that caliber at that price.....as much as it would have been nice to go out and sign a replacement for him when he went on LTIR, there just aren’t any guys like him sitting around waiting to be signed. The loss of Hossa this year is as big as any other factor. |

for the last 3 months its been how will this team lose tonight...
1. poor 1st periods
2. poor 2nd period
3. poor 3rd period finishes
4. bad pens
5. bad pinches
6. poor puck management
7. poor goal tending
any or combo of the above
tonight it is 2,5 and 7 |

He could probably lace them up and be the best 2nd pair they’ve got.

i agree...a big factor...but lets face it this team has 5 dmen who would have a tough time being 5-6 dman on a playoff team...and the loss of craw was huge... |
