what if the staff feels ruldolph is not far behind them?
do you stand pat?
do you take ruldolph at 12, or hope he is there at 22? - homiedclown
They have been trying to move up the last week so obviously they don't value ruldoph like Rosen or the others the same |

What if I told you that the value of Rosen + losing all those picks doesn't equal the value of, say, Mayfield or Jackson and not losing all those picks. To the Bills, not the Hockeybuzz scouts |

Mayfield won't be there ..
We will never have this amount of picks ever again to trade for a quarterback
Plus you got the Miami Dolphins talking to the Colts so that's another quarterback off the board |

They signed AJ last minute do you I honestly think they're not going to make sure they get a franchise QB by trading up?
It's been 20 years since we've had a good QB and you want to play it safe a hope that one of the 3 just falls into our hands ? |
|
|
|
Move up and get a top QB, don't settle like they have for decades and we have seen what happens. Not only do they suck but most games have been boring as (frank) as JP Losman, Trent Edwards, and everyone in between were masters at 3 and outs and could barely hit the broad side of a barn. Why some don't want to finally enact the big boy plan and go after the big boy QB is beyond me. 2nd and 3rd round picks can be found much easier than franchise QB's. |

so sick of hearing we need to get 1 of those 3 qb's
they need to scout heavy, and get the ONE qb they want
if the price is too high, so be it

let's play a game
let's say today the jets trade pick 3 this year and the 2019 first to the giants to move up to pick 2
let's also say the browns, for pick 1, says 4 first rd picks to the bills
the bills, only like the usc and ucla kids a lot, view allen as a project like ruldolph and get a bad vibe from mayfield
what do you do?

This org is showing how detailed and calculated they are. They don't just grab guys. Tre White, picked 27th, runner up D rookie of the year. Nate Peterman, 5th round rookie, startable in his first season, success aside. Not to mention the emergence of Milano and Dawkins as starting caliber players.
This org is so much smarter than what we've had in a long time. I trust they will value their picks correctly and not Doug Whaley them. Mortgaging the future for a receiver when you have EJ in the fold (a mammoth reach, even according to pre draft scouting grades - same talent and upside as 4th rounders that year) when you have guys like OBJ, Mike Evans, Brandin Cooks, Kelvin Benjamin, Davante Adams and so many more. I'm more than confident this regime would have recognized the talent of the WR class and decided OBJ was worth way more than Sammy Watkins a 1st and a 4th.
These guys have more to prove, but they've been almost flawless with their realization of value so far. |

No QB has played for and won a Super Bowl where a team traded into the top 5 to get them.
Want to know why? Because to win a Super Bowl you need a team in front of the QB.
Selling the farm has never worked.
Wentz would have been the first QB ever to win a Super Bowl for the team that traded into the top 5 to get him for that team, but he didn't play because he was hurt. Not to mention the cost of moving up to 2 to draft Wentz is similar to what the Jets gave up to move up 3 spots.
That Jets trade to move up just 3 spots made the cost insane. I doubt you see any team move up past pick 7 or 8. Maybe the Colts trade back again because you know they have their franchise QB but need to surround him with a team before he gets flatted into the earth.
If all you want is a franchise QB then trade up, but if you want to build a Super Bowl winning team you stand pat, at least for now.

I don't think there's enough information here to make a determination. Jackson not mentioned. You don't know what the Bills are looking for as qualities of a starter. You also don't know what these guys have the potential to become. Some flaws are coachable and some aren't. Do some of these guys have those coachable traits to become elite?
If only using your parameters, I'd rather grab a "project" QB that takes a year to become good. If, of course, the Bills realize that talent prior to drafting. Don't take a low ceiling, sure thing. Take the massive ceiling, high floor riskier guy, imo. One of these "sure things" could be an RGIII. Or a Wentz.

Trade down from 12 if there is a team willing to give you a first this year and next like the Chiefs did (if there isn't a WR or MLB on the board you love).

I'm here. This team has so many gaps and a (frank)load of cap space next year. Get a bundle of great rookies and build around them with SMART UFA contracts.

Holy (frank) how are you still confused by this concept.
They called on every single guy. Every one.
The only one they TALKED about getting research on was the guy they signed. |

If you don't think GM's talk to other coaches about players then you are even more stupid than I thought.
Now look at the contract the Jets paid McCown and then look at the contract the Bills gave McCarron...
It is all for a reason |

I'd take McCown or McCarron. Bills won't admit it, but they're both bridge guys. Not sure what the Bills see in McCarron (in an honest, I don't know assessment), but if he's better than Tyrod, that's such a win. |
