Literally no QB that a team has traded up for in the top 5 of the draft has won a Super Bowl for that team (while playing, I think Wentz would have gotten it done though so he would have been there 1st ever)

A guy named Josh called in to say how he wanted the Bills to trade up

Gets to the point where Schopp is basically yelling & berating the guy
Finally, stops & the caller asks if he’s allowed to speak
The caller then proceeded to make a very strong argument with multiple points,
basically saying the Bills haven’t taken a “big swing” at a QB since Losman and he wants to see us do so

*I’m unbiased here
totally ok if we trade up, ok if we don’t
The caller just made a really good case though

Schopp then gets back on his high horse to say the caller “didn’t convince him”
Is the caller’s opinion somehow invalid bc he didn’t convince the almighty Schopp?

He then again starts yelling & tries to change the discussion to be about how the caller judges “success” by a QB

I just turned it off at that point,
Bc Schopp had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to retort on the really good argument the caller made

Just more of him being a loud, obnoxious know it all when a caller disagrees
Then proceeds to basically say the caller is dumb

If Schopp was the legend he thinks he is,

If the Bills trade up and draft a QB that is the next Kelly and they don't win a Super Bowl are we happy?

In the entire history of the league no team has traded into the top 5 for a QB and that QB won them a Super Bowl.

Now there are plenty of factors involved there because it's a team game, but isn't that all the more reason to keep those picks and build a team around your franchise guy?

So until it happens, no team has been able to do it.

That is a fact.

In other words, keep drafting QBs, every year in all different rounds but this is the year that you could take 2 in the first 3 rounds...

Dude... that’s a terrible argument Stripes
There’s more to it than getting a franchise QB,
but it’s also the best way to give your team a chance to consistently win

The odds of us finding a Russell Wilson or Tom Brady are a lot smaller than the bust/success ratio of picking a QB high
So assuming we can find that “franchise guy” later is just hoping against even smaller odds
