Okay. I’m back in

I know Giroux hasn't been good in shootouts this year, but he's the best player on the team by far, he's got to demand being one of the first shooters. Preferably in the top two as there is no guarantee the third shooter gets a chance.

I don't mean accepted by fans, why is it that nothing is done by the franchise to improve in shootouts?
- PLindbergh31

I don't know and it sure is frustrating when you know the team is mostly likely going to lose if they don't win it in OT. No excuse for Giroux not being one of the shooters.

Don't worry - this is a 100 pt season, Hakstol is great, and we're in the playoffs 100%.
- flyers20032002

It won't be a 100 point season, Hakstol is far from great, playoffs pretty decent chance. Lets call it about 65%

You're wrong, I'm quoting the sherpa of this site:

" the Flyers are on their way to playoff berth and a 100 point season despite some of the challenges and shortcomings of the roster, all the young players are flourishing and showing strong development under Hakstol's guidance." - MJL

I believe they will make it. Hoping for WC1 or better. WC2 is almost guaranteed to be a short lived playoff.

I think the goalie thing (frank)s them over this year. Not sure when Elliot is back, but coming in cold..

Make it in. Get the kids some experience. Time of year to simply be rooting for them. We know my annoyance with HC, but these guys have fought hard this year - and damnit I miss playoff hockey as brief as it may be.

Thats an account that is generated by the site to get clicks. I mean there seriously can't be a real person that spends hours on end arguing semantics.

That just indicates one more way the Flyers are built for the playoffs..where there are no shootouts

God damn I need to have some (medicinal) plant material after that shootout BS. Has anyone in the media called out Hak for choosing two youngsters over Giroux as shooters when the team is trying to scrap out an extra point coming down the stretch? What the hell Hak? I have an icy stare for you too bro!

Mrazek was great in his first 3 starts, and then pretty lousy since. Tonight he really only let in one questionable goal. The shorthanded goal has to be stopped, but it was a pretty damn good snipe. How about not allowing a chance like that on the PP. The other two goals he had no chance. The team was pretty lousy in front of him tonight.

The persona being questioned does have a somewhat predictable posting period by the hours, on a pretty much daily basis, for years. I'm probably taking this too literally, but I believe he is not a construct for profit or entertainment.

They play better in front of Lyon. There were rumors of chemistry issues in Detroit with Mrazek. Maybe some of that has surfaced here. I won't complain if they don't go all in in trying to retain him through RFA.

Once they didn't score on the PP in OT you knew it was over. Giroux has to demand to be out there. Weal and Patrick are very odd choices.

Here would be my top 4 every shootout.
Giroux
Voracek
Konecny

I like those but I'd put Filipula in there instead of Jake. If it goes beyond 4 then strat thinking Jake/Cooter.

Better yet just (frank)ing play 60 min and win in Reg. against a bad Red Wings team.

Agreed on Mrazek. Right now I wouldn't be interested in bringing him back next year. Lyon has played pretty well, not sure I trust him. He seems to lose the net and be out of position quite often. Neuvirth isn't healthy enough to be a backup on any team that doesn't have a starter who plays 65+ games. Right now I'd just go with Elliott next year as the starter and either Stolarz or Lyon as the backup.

I'd be willing to give Filpula a shot. Why not. You have to come away with 2 points in a game against an inferior opponent.
